Wellman conception tablets?

Hi, we went to an information evening at a fertility clinic yesterday and during the presentation, put up a slide of tips to improve sperm quality.
One of the tips was to take a vitamin supplement designed for men and suggested a couple but then made a specific point of saying "not Wellman"

Now I noted that they had some pull up banners advertising some products so the cynical side of me is thinking that Wellman haven't given them any money to push their product.
On the other hand, the clinic is the one used by the NHS in my area and are affiliated with the local university, and there were plenty of supplements not mentioned.

I can't find anything on google about why Wellman conception is to be avoided and forgot to ask the question last night so wondered if anyone here has come across this?

Not come across this but commenting as I'm interested to hear any answers! DH has been using these for some time.

Have you heard of fertilaid??
Quite expensive but they worked for us x

@MichaelKnightsCar. Oh no! My DH has been using these!

Hi guys, from my understanding it is because Wellman’s formula although is really comprehensive, it’s not absorbed into the bloodstream as well as it’s competitors.
My DH had low sperm morphology & motility and we decided to take proxeed. This comes has a few key ingredients in large quantities for sperm health. It is in form of powder sachets which are taken twice a day.
So far so good, as 6 months later his sperm parameters have improved.
DH did however take the wellmans along with the proxeed just to cover all grounds.

I hear fertilaid is also highly recommended although we haven’t tried it.

Hope that helps x

My husbands sperm count has imprpved significantly with wellman - it's pretty much normal now. Not that that seems to be helping us conceive!

I'll use up our supply in the cupboard and then maybe try something else, but consultant didn't object to the wellman either!

I haven’t heard anything about wellman tablets and we have mentioned this to three doctors and two specialist fertility consultants. I think it might be that they didn’t have money to promote product. Taking advantage of vulnerable people

Thanks for all the responses everyone, my husband has been taking Wellman for quite a few months now - we'll be miffed if they don't work!
I wonder (though I hope not) if the clinic are taking advantage of vulnerable people as well and making money promoting certain products though they made a point of saying they don't recommend any specific ones.

We may look at switching to fertilaid or proxeed instead once the current pack has finished (not sure how impressed my husband will be at taking sachets of stuff! Smile)

We have another SA test on July 4 months on from first one. DH has been on wellman so will be interested to see if it had made a difference

MichaelKnightsCar · 16/05/2018 12:03

That will be interesting, would you mind popping on this thread and letting me know if things have improved?
Fingers crossed for you that it does!

My dh used fertilaid, no improvement and suffered terrible headaches. I have heard the Superdrug one is good too

Fertilaid significant improved my DH sperm. It's much more expensive though

Hello guys. I'm new to this page, but I'm starting to worry. Me and my partner have been together for 5 years and never used any protection or taken any pills. I went to my doctor and he sent me to a fertility specialist. I had loads of bloods done, ultrasound and a hsg examination. And my partner had his sperm tested. We got the results back last week. My results was that I'm not ovulating on all 3 different months I haven't ovulated. And my partners swimmers was okay as a average but the amount that actually reach the egg is not alot or that strong. They said he had 9 million but it should be between 13 and 15 million. The specialist advised him to take wellmen vitamins and be on a balanced diet. We have to go back in 3 months time to find out if the vitamins have worked for his sperm. If they have improved then they are putting me on clomid. With clomid it is a 50/50 chance due to the effect on different people. Some it has helped but some it has not. You got the complication of having multiple babies and then the chance of them not surviving the whole pregnancy.... has anyone had anything like this before. I could really use someone to chat with feel really scared that I'm not able to have any children.. x

Hi there, just came across this and it's very similar to our situation, we have been together 6 years and never used contraception, I've got PCO but not the syndrome, my periods have now regulated and I'm ovulating, and we have now decided to try, I'm taking seven seas and I just bought my OH these. Did you have a success? X
