V high AMH and PCOS

Hi I'm looking to see if anyone would like or be able to share any advice or experiences of this as google seems to send me straight to looking at ivf.

I'm 26 and have just been diagnosed with PCOS and a AMH of 96.2. I'm absolutely clueless but understand I'm likely to not be ovulating and if I am I'm releasing unripened eggs (have I got this all wrong?!) this is strange as I think we've had 3 chemical pregnancies in the past?

I'm just so confused and anxious so any advice or support would be great. Thank you

Hi @NessaShanessaJenkins ,

I'm not an expert on this as I have low AMH but AMH alone is not a marker of whether you are ovulating or the quality of your eggs.

You obviously are ovulating if you have had chemical pregnancies. I don't know the cut offs but I would think with that AMH you are likely to have PCOS which I believe can effect the quality of your eggs but a much better marked of egg quality is your age - and yours is very much on your side.

The positives are with IVF and that AMH you're very likely to get eggs and at your young age they're likely to be good quality so I would think your chance of having a baby long term is very good.

Hope that helps (though I reiterate I don't have any experience on high AMH and PCOS!)

Thank you so much for talking to me, believe me that's really helped. I'm 29 I must have done a typo.
I think it's the unknown setting off my anxiety

I know it's so hard. I've found it helpful to reassure myself I will have a baby eventually (I can't guarantee it will have mY genetics) but I will be a Mum one day. I just have to wait a lot longer than others which doesn't seem fair!

And I'm not giving up on my genetics for a very long time yet!

Ask your specialist about taking Omega 3 supplements (or eating oily fish) to improve egg quality. Some clinics recommend Pregnacare Max to PCOS patients for this very reason.
