Anyone considering Embryoscope?

Just saw on the news that Embryoscope is available.
Have any of you considered this or have used it.
Is it worth it?

It was standard for us (NHS Gateshead) and we were told that it helped the embryologists to work out which embryos were best because they could see all of their development. They showed us a few of the time lapse videos to explain why they had chosen our blastocyst and what it was about some of the embryos that was abnormal. Some of them looked ok at the end, but you could see that during the process of division they didn’t divide so evenly and had little bits of fragmentation. It was amazing to see! Obviously that is only my experience and the fact that it looked cool doesn’t mean it made a difference.

I didn’t really look into it myself as I kind of assumed if it was standard then it was probably a good thing. Is it a lot extra?

Maybe have a look at the HFEA info on add-ons?

We had to pay extra for it when we did our NHS round but interestingly now we're on private it's included?

Was very useful for us - showed us most of our embryos divided wrong between day 1 and day 3 so now we're being tested for high sperm DNA fragmentation.

We researched it a lot and there's strong evidence it makes you more likely to have a successful outcome.

So definitely recommend

I’ve used it for all 3 of my cycles at no extra cost - NHS and private. I think it’s great for embryologists assessing the quality of embryo based on the timeline and cell division. I’ve had issues with quality so provides extra info to identify which embryo(s) to implant rather than just grading them at day 3 or 5.

Also I believe that without embryoscope, embryos have to be taken out of their environment to be looked at every day where they risk getting damaged - I could be wrong about this though.
