Hi catherine. Smile

Most (if not all) posters on this board will have ttc long enough to be involved with fertility services. There are some lovely long running support threads already-you’re best to join one of those. You’d definitely be welcomed.

siobhanttc · 05/01/2018 17:05

Hey,

Ttc for over a year and have now been referred to the fertility clinic at homerton hospital (first appointment next month)

I've had 21 day bloods which have come back fine, husband has been told he has 4% morphology and 36% motility, which having done some googling is on the low side!

fightingfertility you’re talking bollocks.

www.who.int/reproductivehealth/topics/infertility/definitions/en/

The WHO defines infertility as a disease of the reproductive system defined by the failure to achieve a clinical pregnancy after 12 months or more of regular unprotected sexual intercourse..

Reducing stress will have no bearing on conception at all.

Hi ladies. For those of you who's partners little swimmer are slightly on the slow side (same with my partner) we were TTC for 2 years & were just refered to fertility specialist when we got pregnant. We already knew the OH swimmers were a little lazy & I ordered some CONCEIVE PLUS lubricant. Pregnant first time! I swear that's what did it... may be worth ago! My daughter is now 6 months old & had I not made that purchase she may not be here! 😭 Good luck! Xx

PurpleDaisies · 07/01/2018 19:43

Do you think people haven’t tried that sort of thing proud?

Proudmamax · 07/01/2018 19:45

Maybe not purple daisies don't get your knickers in a twist Hun 👍🏼😘

isthismummy · 07/01/2018 20:30

I suspect PurpleDaisies* is less twisted in the knicker department and more irritated by yet another thread taken over by suggestions to reduce stress and try fertility lube. Most people tend to have tried both by 18+months trying to conceive.

Btw, Conceive Plus can aid the passage of sperm, but it cannot speed them up.

Proudmamax · 07/01/2018 20:42

Look I wasn't trying to offend anyone here, don't jump down my throat. Its not purples thread is it? Or yours? I wasn't suggesting anything to either of you but to the lady who posted. She didn't need to reply or could have simply said she'd already tried it. I can suggest what ever the hell I like what are you two the mean girls of mums net? 😂 I was TTC for almost 2 years before I heard of the fertility lubricant so maybe MOST have but some may not have.

Pickle0 · 07/01/2018 21:57

I personally am happy you suggested it proud. Am currently on metformin for PCOS, ttc 2 years and am now looking it up!

Proudmamax · 07/01/2018 22:02

Thank you Pickle0! I have pcos to! That combined with my partners sperm I honestly never believed I would get pregnant but I did! I still can't believe it happened some days. Wish you all the luck in the world 🌎 I really hope it works for you!

isthismummy · 07/01/2018 22:52

Proud No we aren't the mean girls of mumsnet. However we are the girls who don't find peoples suggestions of "have you tried relaxing, going on holiday, having acupuncture, trying fertility lube, only having sex on a Tuesday in pink knickers" particularly helpful. Probably because we've tried them all and guess what? We're still barren. There has been an influx of it on this board of late. It pisses us off because for some of us this board is the only place we can go to escape such suggestions.

I'm glad conceive plus worked for you, but telling people it speeds up low motility is inaccurate. It can help smoothe the sperms way in cases were there is a lack of ewcm (which is of course also a potential fertility issue) but it cannot make sperm swim faster.

Proudmamax · 07/01/2018 23:24

A fertility lubricant that has been proven to increase fertility is hardly as ridiculous a suggestion as 'sex on Tuesdays with pink knickers.' Just because it hasn't worked for you that doesn't mean it won't work for somebody else who might read this, because it did for me. I never claimed to be a fertility expert & i'm sure people will do their own research on the product if they wish to. I can fully appreciate you come here to escape useless advise. I heard way to many times 'you're young it'll happen' so I'm sorry I added to the list of people that got you rolling your eyes, it was unintentional. But as I said it may work for someone else who reads this. You don't get to tell people that something that hasn't worked for you won't work for anyone. You're not judge & jury here isthismummy. I wish you every luck in the future on your journey.

Worriedscot2207 · 20/01/2018 23:01

Would anyone recommend Conceive plus or pre-seed? I’m willing to try anything next Cycle and thinking about vitamin D (period came way too early this month) worth a try I suppose 😆 xox

Tobebythesea · 21/01/2018 19:35

I haven’t tried Conceive Plus but heard good things. Pre-Seed worked for my Sister so that’s the one I’m using.

I don’t know the difference (if any) between the two.

StargazyDrifter · 21/01/2018 19:47

Thank you for posting about the lubricants. DH and I had been TTC 12+ months, then a MMC over Christmas and now starting again. We had a long chat about the various lubricants today as no clear guarantee it'll help, but this thread has helped the discussion a bit more. To OP and others TTC 18+ months, hang in there and lots and lots of Flowers
