Fourth miscarriage, what next.

Had basic tests. Mine are fine except for low estradiol but I can’t find any info on it. DP had slightly low morphology at 4% but nothing severe.

I’ve tried taking aspirin. I’m now losing my fourth pregnancy. I get pregnant almost every month only for this.

One miscarriage was at 7 weeks but discovered at 9 weeks, my other three have been 3w5, 4, and 4w3.

My first requires a D&C, I wonder if this has caused it? I have one DS from a previous relationship.

I’ve been referred to a clinic and I’m planning on having my NK cells tested privately.

However we don’t know what to do. It seems pointless to keep trying but I don’t want to give up :( we are thinking of ICSI with PGP (genetic screening) but unsure if this will help.

I am so sorry for your losses. I know how much it hurts having been there myself. Big hug!

I have had 4 losses too, 3 very early losses like you. DH is perfect. I was later diagnosed with Endometriosis Stage 4 for which I didn't have any symptoms before. The consultant seemed to think my losses were due to the Endo because they were failing to implant. We also got a second opinion from a consultant at Lister. She advised having a range of tests done to rule out various factors like Anti Cardiolipin syndrome, ANA, MTHFR, Thyroid function, NK cells, TH1-TH2, Chromosomal Karyotyping. Your GP might be able to help with some tests.
From all these tests, I found out that I had high TH1-TH2 ratios which supposedly also affect implantation and attack the embryo as a foreign body. And funnily enough can be a result of having Endometriosis. Following removal of the Endo, I got pregnant in 3 cycles, but went on to have a missed miscarriage at 11wk+2. So no success yet, but have just had my TH1-TH2 levels checked and waiting for the results.

Definitely do the Chromosomal Karyotyping blood test before you embark on ICSI.

They thought I had endo when I was younger. Extremely painful periods that had me in hospital and on tramadol but they cleared up after I had my son and now are so uneventful. I wonder if it’s related.

Yeah we want the full tests before going down that route. We get no funding because I have a son but my partner has no children.

MC clinics are not all equally good: I went to St Mary’s in London.

I found Prof Lesley Regan’s book on mc really helpful.

I can't advise on the miscarriages, I just wanted to say that endometriosis is often much improved after a pregnancy. Just because you now have pain-free periods does not mean that you do not have endometriosis! You may have endometriosis which is now asymptomatic as far as the pain goes, but may be a cause for the early miscarriages.

I didn’t know that, I assumed if it was painless it had gone. Will be asking them to look into this.
