Anyone used IVI in London?

Hi, I know IVI have clinics all over the world, most famously in Madrid. We have considered going to Madrid but I see they have a clinic in London now, opened last year. Obvs the clinic is so new they don’t have any stats to offer yet, but they say they have replicated their Madrid clinic in its entirety so essentially their methods, equipment etc is exactly the same. I’m 41 so this is last chance saloon, I need to choose carefully as I can’t go through this again - I’ve had 3 failed natural (drug free) cycles this year with Create who were just a nightmare to deal with and I feel as if I’ve wasted precious time and money on a crap, Stone Age clinic. IVI London want to cut to the chase, use high stim (425 iu) and get as many eggs as possible. My AMH is 3.6.
Does anybody have experience of using IVI either here or abroad? I’d be so grateful if you could share a bit about your experience with them.

Wow, good results with bemfola as that’s quite a low dose as I understand it. Did u start injecting on day 2 of your cycle?

What is prgynova? Yes I think I took the clotting blood test too... with that and the immune testing it cost me over £850 just for bloods! Insane! But then if that’s the thing that makes the difference so you don’t have to go through it all again, then i think it’s worth it. X

Yes I think you are right about if it is the thing that makes the difference is worth it. My bloods for this test we're about £650 so I relate :s

Progynova is the hormones they gave me two weeks before embryo transfer to help thicken the endometrium, and apparently I have to keep taking them until week 13 if pregnant. (I have found these tiny little pills make me feel PMS all the time. Not fun)

I started injecting bemfola on day 6 of my cycle and cetrotide on day 10. Trigger on day 17

Hope this helps!

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/02/2018 16:11

Progynova is what you get when doing a fet

Makes lining thick so embryo can hopefully implant

A fet is much nicer then doing fresh cycle - no daily injections

All crossed for you

Did they say why you had 19 eggs but only 4 fertilised?

Katy75 · 18/02/2018 16:22

Hello, we were with Mr Lower before he was at IVI and highly recommend him. We were successful on third attempt but recommended him even when it had not worked, which I think is a good test. I would thoroughly trust his judgment so if he is now at IVI he must rate them, iyswim, good luck x

AliceRi · 18/02/2018 19:38

Hi @blondeshavemorefun yes I had 19 eggs but only 4 fertilised and only 1 came back good from genetic testing. They said maybe my eggs were not mature enough but I had to get them out because of OHSS :s bummer

Hi @Katie75 that's great that you were with Dr. Lower and recommend him! I think you are rights as even if this one doesn't work I would still recommend him too.

Xx

AliceRi · 18/02/2018 19:39

Sorry. I meant @Katy75

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/02/2018 21:01

Hey AliceRi been thinking about you, any news? x

Aww thank you so much @weedance that's so sweet! I did get a BFP... but then miscarried pretty soon after that. Still quite sore and just wanting for it all to be over, as physically I am extremely tired of the constant pain and discomfort. I think once you know is for nothing it hurts more hehe

How are you doing? Xxx

Weedance · 12/03/2018 15:28

I am so sorry to hear that, and sorry if my asking was insensitive, i momentarily forgot that its not atall black and white in terms of being 'pregnant' or 'not pregnant', so much else can happen too. Miscarriage is an awful shock, especially after going through ivf. I hope you are ok, I'm sending you good vibes and wish you a speedy recovery Flowers

Thank you so much @weedance ! And it wasn't insensitive at all! I appreciate the thoughts and the question and I'm sorry I didn't have more positive news to share. But one day hopefully. Smile
Thanks for being so thoughtful and lovely and for your good wishes.
Xxx

I just had my nurse planning appointment and should start with Norethisterone on 17th March.
Still trying to get my head around all the meds and the planning.
My doctor is L. Chapman, really like her, but took the nurse 4 attempts to get the dates right for the medications Hmm
Now we are currently waiting for the admin to get back to us with some prices... we are still unsure on the total final bill for the first cycle (freeze all + Icsi) I know that might vary, but we have already the exact costs for the drugs and would nice to understand better how much and when we have to Pay.
This is our first cycle so no other clinics to compare to or previous experiences.

Weedance · 10/04/2018 23:46

have not seen L Chapman myself but seen her around the clinic and she seems friendly! Everyone seems like they are doing their best and I like the fact it's much quieter than other clinics. no crowded waiting rooms and free cappuccinos 😁
they pride themselves in being clear about fees so defo chase them for clarity on that, seeing as it's their thing. I hate it when clinics fudge the fees and present u with a massive bill for this and that, add ons and extras. infuriating! best of luck with your cycle, what's your protocol like? x

Sissi81 · 11/04/2018 07:40

Hi @Weedance,
I am on the short protocol, starting next week with Norethisterone and then first scan on 2nd May. Will then have to wait for the PGD scanning so as my first cycle will be pretty long.
To be fair I prefer to wait before and hopefully have a better chance than to rush.
My AMH is 2.6 (despite on a second test done at Guys was 4.5) so still unsure how bad it is.
Hope you don't mind me asking at what point are you with them?
Have a good day Smile

Hi weedance

Have you asked your clinic about Tamoxifen? It is a cancer treatemeny Drug but it has shown amazing results in the area for infertility for both men and women.

Have you been preparing for IVF? Supplements/diet etc?
