Hi,
Basically at 17 I had cysts and was told I had polycystic ovaries. I had periods every like two weeks. I was put on the pill for it. Anyway fast forward ten years. I'm not actively trying to get pregnant but was having pains- they scanned me and saw no cysts etc just quite a few follicles.... I had just had my period though. (Withdrawal bleed on the pill) . Although, I'm not actively trying to get pregnant I decided to come off the pill for a while just to see as it's confused me being tested and having no cysts when I have had scans before and always had some. I wanted to see how they were naturally. Anyway, my period was due a couple of days ago and I've had nothing. I've done an early detection pregnancy test and a normal one on different days both negative. Anyway, I was wondering do people think it's a good idea to test to see if I ovulate with those ovulation detection kits you can get? I basically want to get a better more up to date pic of things. This is because if I don't get a period or they become irregular then I can push for the fertility drugs when it does come to it.

I struggled to get anyone to take me seriously at the time of explain what polycystic ovaries was. This is because I was having periods. I have since found out through my own research you can have periods and not be ovulating. I was under the impression that that was not the case.

I had a withdrawal bleed last month which was awful 3 super plus tampons in about 3 hours with flooding when I woke up. Also, another reason why I'm anxious to know when it may be

I think ovulation prediction tests might help - if it looks like you're ovulating, then you'll get your period about 2 weeks later. The Clear Blue ones are quite good as they detect 2 different hormones. However, I have heard from some PCOS ladies that they might not be completely reliable in PCOS. Hopefully someone clued in will be along soon :)
