hi all
all i want is clomid - im not wanting to go down the whole ivf route.
im 45 and lost a baby last year in second trimester due to chromosomal abnormalities. ive not managed to get pg since despite trying now for a year.
im wanting to give it one last go with clomid if its suitable. im pretty sure im still ovulating as my cycles are usually 30 days and this month i got a positive opk on cd15.

initial consult is £185. anyone used them and if so looking for feedback.
thank you

If you're still ovulating, clomid won't be of much use...

really? i thought it just gave us older ladies a bit of a leg up....?

No, clomid is for anovulatory infertility. So if you're ovulating it won't help.

Your issue at age 45 is most likely to be due to egg quality, which clomid won't make any difference to.

Sorry to hear your problems.
Agree it is likely to be egg quality that is the issue and if I were you and you really want a baby then I would just get on the ivf bandwagon asap.
Its up to you at then end of the day you could spend another 6 months waiting for it to happen naturally and that's another 6 months of eggs down the drain. It's hard to accept but even ivf has poor results over 45.

As for the consultants at Claremont they are all very good. I saw mr metwally at jessops fertility and he's been great with me. I over responded to ivf drugs and he sorted my regime out with additional medication to help me get to egg collection. It was obviously more complicated than all of that but at 41 I had a little boy who is perfect.

All I can say is good luck with your journey and whatever you decide but be prepared for some difficult times.

A friend of mine had ivf age 46 in Cyprus and it paid off for her with twin boys.

Good luck!

lardycow are you sure your friend didn't use an egg donor in Cyprus?
I ask as the chance of even a positive pregnancy test after IVF at age 46 is only about 2% and the live birth rate is much lower so I'm wondering if this is a crucial fact missing from your sentence about your friend?
