As above really.
For anyone who has unexplained infertility, after having started the ivf process did they then discover the reason why you weren't conceiving?
In my unexplained bubble and mind is racing to what might be discovered when I start the process at the end of the month.

I already knew my problem was my Fallopian tubes but one of my best friends has had successful fresh cycle IVF followed by two separate successful FETs and she was diagnosed unexplained fertility. They never got to the bottom of it through her treatment but yet managed to have three children successfully through IVF.

Thanks click!
Suppose the 'unexplaineds' will remain but just wondered if when they find out more stuff during ec and transfer etc if that can then change the diagnosis.

Unexplained here and still don't know the reason! Did all the tests, checks, 28 day cycle, ovulating, great sperm etcetera. Did 5 cycles of IVF and have 2 beautiful children as a result. But am still surprised how no cause was ever found!

The unexplained diagnosis is definitely a tough one to deal with - its human nature to want to know what the issue is so we can treat/fix it. Good luck with your treatment!

Click it most certainly is! I don't want anyone to tell me that x, y and z is wrong with me but on the flip side will it stop me from constantly wondering if things will ever happen?

Yes! I was unexplained for 6.5 years. Had 2 fresh ivf cycles in 2014, at Bourne hall NHS funded. The 2nd cycle ended with miscarriage at 7.5 weeks.
As my husband's sperm was ok in tests I knew there must have been an issue with my fertility and I found it so hard to accept the unexplained infertility label. I went private last year for a consultation at Create clinic. I saw Dr Borase, within minutes of scanning me and lots of detailed questions about my cycles he diagnosed polycystic ovaries and a high chance of endometriosis. I'd most likely had it for years and it had been missed, dismissed or just not disclosed to me by previous doctors I had seen. I had regular but heavy painful periods lack of ovulation, ovarian pains as my symptoms.
I then took Inofolic and completely changed my diet to avoid anything with added sugar, processed, gluten, caffeine, saturated fat and most dairy. Within 2 months I felt amazing had my first normal period with no pain killers needed then went on to conceive naturally for the first time ever!
If you feel that there's a cause for infertility, trust your instincts, see as many different doctors as you need to, don't lose years being fobbed off like I was.

My 9 IVF cycles and miscarriage were down to undiagnosed coeliac disease. But we did get there in the end.

Wow chuck and smiley. Glad you've got answers now.
I did it bizarre that the fertility doctors concentrate only on the reproductive organs because I do think there can be so many other things. I don't necessarily think there's anything I could say would be wrong with me, I'm healthy, exercise daily, eat a good diet. Feel well other than sleep, I have around 2-3 hours a night but it doesn't really affect me. (May be affecting my body) I've tried everything possible and multiple sleep tests but nothing improves it so just live with it.
