Hi all, I have had HSG today and apparently my left tube is blocked and the radiologist suggested selective salpingogram and salpingectomy as the next step to unblock my left tube.

My ovaries are good and one is dominant. Also right tube is fine. Can I still get pregnant?

What are your experiences with this procedure?

Thank you

I had my right tube removed on Monday after it was shown to be blocked during HSG and a lap and dye. We've been ref for IVF and the consultant wanted it removing before we proceed as she desc it as dripping stagnant fluid into my uterus and not making it the best environment for implantation. We've been TTC for 4 years and people do still conceive with a hydrosalaphinx in situ and also conceive with just one tube so I guess we'll just have to wait and see. The way I figured it I wasn't getting pregnant with it so if I still don't get pregnant without it I'm in no worse a position on the other hand it might have been the reason for our infertility and we could get our elusive BFP in the next few months without needing IVF. The op itself was day surgery and fairly straightforward and other than being a bit tender at point of incision I'm fine. Good luck Flowers
