AMH 1.6 and only two follicles. Clinic recommendations in London or overseas?

I would be incredibly grateful for any advice. I have just received blood test results back from the ACU at Guys and it is bleak news, as suspected when they could only find two follicles on my scan yesterday, my AMH is very low at 1.6, meaning that our chances of IVF being successful are less than 5%.
I'm now looking into clinics that specialise in treating women with low ovarian reserve and would love to hear any recommendations for particular clinics, either in London or overseas. Success stories would also be very gratefully received!

Probably the most famous one is CREATE. They specialise in natural IVF for thise with low AMH. They have open days for their clinics where you can have a free 1 to 1 with a consultant.

Can you also try naturally? Low amh on its own doesn't prevent natural conception.

Thank you Fish, I will try to book a space at one of the open evenings at CREATE. Chatty, we have been trying naturally for well over a year and I am almost 41, hence the tests and investigations. We are able to borrow the money for one cycle so it might be worth it if we can find somewhere with more promising odds than less than 5%.

Please have a peruse of the book "An Impatient Womans Guide to getting pregnant". Its claims are backed with scientific research but the author states low AMH should not prevent natural conception.

The author Jean Twenge openly states she was told her AMH was very low and then she conceived her third child and gave birth at 40.

May be worth a look and hope its useful!

Yeah I read that book too! The issue with low amh is time. That said- I was told my amh was 2.8 at 34. I've since had live births via both ivf and naturally, so it's possible either way!

Thanks for the tip - book ordered!

There's also "it starts with the egg". Lots of recs for supplements and things you can do. Have you ever been pregnant before?

HeyPresto1 · 06/05/2017 10:10

Thank you, Chatty. I will see if I can get that one too. Yes, we are lucky enough to have one DD, conceived naturally after 10 months TTC when I was 37. No MCs. Realise how very fortunate we are and if this is the end of the road for us, we will accept that our family is smaller than we would have liked and move on. Just want to feel as though we have tried what we can first.

I would highly recommend the clinic we used in Brussels - the website is www.crg.be. Click on the little green 'E' for the English version...
I had an AMH level of 0.2, and successfully had my daughter with the CRG's help. Prior to going there we had four rounds at a different clinic which didn't work. The CRG is used to dealing with overseas patients, and I know of several other people who have had IVF there, and each time it's been successful.
Good luck, I know it's difficult to go through this and it's a huge emotional rollercoaster, but hopefully you'll get there. It took us six years to have our dc2, and my feelings were much the same as yours - that we wanted to try whatever we could before giving up. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

I also recommend It Starts With The Egg. My AMH was even lower than yours, 0.4 at age 42. Remember that it's not so much quantity than quality that counts regarding your eggs. Are you ovulating ok?
The book has some good suggestions- I took the recommended supplements (well, some of them), and I had my DD in 2015, conceived naturally.

Thank you so much for your kind responses, Chintaria and Cloudjumper. I will certainly look into CRG and yes, I am ovulating every cycle. I do feel a little more encouraged today after the initial shock of fairly awful scan and blood test results so thank you again!
