Follow Up - Failed IVF

I just wondered if I could ask for some second opinions regarding the situation we find ourselves in...

We have gone through a new satellite clinic for Guys, so always knew we'd be 'guinea pigs' to a certain extent. I was only scanned on Day 9 of a long protocol - telephone conversation with Consultant - and then the rest was at Guys. Horribly rushed ET - left me in tears throughout.

Our first round of IVF failed on the 1st April - I texted the Consultant (he asked for this to happen) and said he was very sorry etc. He asked me to ring and book appointment.

I rang my clinic on the 3rd April, who advised I couldn't have an appointment until the 3rd May - which seems to me such a long time to wait? We've got so many questions, anxieties and worries, and it feels like we've been fobbed off now they've got our money.

I wonder if any can advise what happened after they've had an IVF cycle fail - I'm feeling so disheartened that it feels like we've been abandoned at a time I need reassurance most....?

Erm I honestly don't know but didn't want to read and run. Just to clarify you paid private to be 'guinea pigs'? Did they give you any discount as its a new clinic? There's no way on earth I would pay for IVF at a new clinic without it being properly looked in to. Sorry OP it's failed

Sorry that it didn't work for you. I had my debrief session with the consultant 5 weeks after a failed cycle, I think that timeline is fairly typical.

Sorry things didn't work out for you. I recently had a failed cycle too. The clinic made a follow up appointment immediately and i saw the consultant within 2 weeks of getting my bfn. I have another appointment for 6 weeks time to plan my next ivf cycle.

This timeline was the same for me on my first cycle. And I also remember feeling like you do, extremely anxious about next steps. Don't worry, relax and let your body recover. If anything I think it is a little better having the review once hormones etc settle down. I was more able to ask sensible questions. There are lists of questions all over the Internet which will help you prepare.

I've just had another failed cycle so I know how you feel.

I have my post failed IVF appointment a month after the negative test (10th of May). In my case it was the first available appointment for my doctor, but the lovely nurse explained that it would give my body a chance to adjust and would give them a clearer idea of when I can try again as they want me to have another period before and the medication can throw my cycle out.

Hi ladies. I have just had a failed ivf. Had 2 put back in on a. 5dt. They lasted until day 9. Obviously I am absolutely gutted. My OH and I were surprised that our clinic don't want to see us for a couple of weeks. I thought they would want to see me pretty much immediately whilst hormones are still raging(!) to find out what happened. How are they going to know in a few weeks whether it was me that failed or the embryos? Perhaps they wouldn't anyway even if I went sooner.
I guess it's good to know this is the standard across different clinics.
Sorry we're all in the position - so unfair

I have had 2 FET'S (1 successful which ended in a MC at 5 weeks and 1 unsuccessful) and recently a failed IVF cycle. Each time I have been told that there must have been something wrong with the embryos and it was never investigated any further.

It's so unfair we are all going through this but comforting to know it's standard across the different clinics.
