Hi

I'm based in Surrey/London area. I just wondered if there are any clinics you know if that offer early appointments i.e. 07:00 or 07:30 so I can fit it in without taking too much time off work,

Thank you.

Both the clinics I used in London (Hammersmith and Boston place) offered appointments that early. I think 7am opening is pretty routine for infertility clinics... most I've heard of anecdotally open that early.

I think the Nuffield in Woking open early. They also stay open late.

They nearly all open early but appointments are made on a first come, first serve and unfortunately the vast majority of patients want the early ones.
You shouldn't work on the assumption that you'll get an early slot for all of your appointments because they may have already been taken by the timeyou come to make yours (usually every other day)

I've got through 4 rounds and 6 FETs through a combination of getting early appointments and using 'doctors and dentists appointment' as an excuse to work for the 9am-and-later ones

You also need to take a day off for the collection and at least half a day for the transfer, which you will only get a few days notice on for the exact date, so again, there will need to be some flexibility to take time off at short notice

As sparechange said.

However you may need more than a day off for egg collection as you shouldn't drive for at least 24 hours after a general anaesthetic (some clinics do them under sedation and some under GA) so this may result in more than a day off work.

Unfortunately as PP says, you get little warning re appointment dates, so when you'll need time off work us rather unpredictable.

Be kind to yourself. This process is hugely stressful and worrying about taking time off work/trying to
juggle work and treatment only adds to this. Wishing you all the best.

When it was me I had early morning appts but also needed about 3/4 trips a week for scans. You will need time off regardless of how early you are as you need to be there for a specific time that matches your hormone peaks. If you miss it you can pretty much kiss goodbye to that cycle. Even if injecting at home you will need to be on the dot with them.

Thanks all! The two clinic we have looked at so far don't open till 8:30 so I thought that was standard, great to hear there are places open earlier.
I will book 1-2 weeks annual leave for the time ec and et could happen to cover the fact that can change but will have the 2 weeks prior to that of 2-3 day scans and bloods which In my job I'm not able to be in later than 9 without finding someone to cover me which if a bit of a drama tbh.
Thanks everyone!
