Is it do-able to increase lining thickness in a few days?

Day 8 scan today and lining is only 6.4mm

Egg collection on Monday-is there anything I can do over the weekend to bring the lining up a bit? Have read several things about thickening lining but most of these refer to things to do after egg collection and before embryo transfer.

Also, is it best to freeze any embryos we get if lining is going to remain thin?

8.6mm is brilliant!! Congrats on being PUPO! I got pregnant with 8.5, so it was definitely enough to implant

Ashermans is very treatable with operative hysteroscopy

If I don't have a proper bleed when my period is due, then we are preparing me for a hysteroscopy in Sept. It would be both diagnostic (to evaluate the uterine cavity and check again for any areas of scarring or adhesions ; there weren't at my last hysteroscopy in May, but if I fail to shed lining again, Dr says we need to investigate, and only way to get a proper look is to go in with a camera) - and therapeutic.

The plan would be to insert a copper IUD - however he said if there are any adhesions, he will surgically remove them with microscissors first

The copper IUD plus stimulating the endometrium with oestrogen pills and patches is pretty standard treatment to build up the lining post ashermans surgery, so we're going to use the same treatment to work on my lining

We know I don't have major scarring and full on Ashermans, as my lining got to 11mm in May. But the HyCoSy showed a small area of irregular outline on the endometrium, which could be a small area of scarring. Dr said he really doesn't want to have to do another operation, but if I have another round of abnormal bleeding, despite growing some lining, we will not proceed with the cycle until we've got it resolved.

I very much hope you don't need to think about any of this, but there is definitely lots that can be done to investigate (and treat, if necessary) adhesions

Congrats again on ET! Hope the coming days fly by x

thanks! Hysteroscopy sounds really useful then, might look into that depending how things go. Back to the 2WW and worrying about what I can and can't do! ;-)

Worth having less invasive tests done first though (which I hope you won't have cause to need!)

A saline ultrasound will give a better look at the uterine cavity and an indication if there's any areas of scarring

Which if so can then be further investigated and treated via hysteroscopy

My first hysteroscopy was done to remove retained products after my ERPC (BUPA covered this - they don't cover fertility but they do cover miscarriages)

If I have a second hysteroscopy it will be because we need to investigate a possible question mark raised in my HyCoSy, ie we don't go straight to hysteroscopy unless it's indicated

(BUPA also cover gynae, so Dr said we will just say it's for period problems - which is true, in the main)

Really really really hoping I don't need another one, as the prospect of another op and 2 months on the coil doesn't fill me with joy
