Is it possible to improve egg quality in three months?

I've just been for my review after a failed round of IVF (trying to conceive child number 2), and consultant reckons our problem might one of embryo quality. Partner's sample was good so possibly poor egg quality?. We had 7 eggs, 4 fertilised but only one day 5 blastocyst which was put back. I had a heavy bleed 5 days after ET however.

Doctor said that although the embryo which was put back was top quality, the rest were all below quality, so on average our quality isn't great.

Any ideas as to how I can try and rectify this naturally before our next go in three months time? I've been on CoQ10 since the start of the year, and now started Vitamin E and a pregnancy multivitamin. I have low AMH so this might be our last go, really keen to try whatever we can to help things along!

I didn't take it glummy because it starts with the egg recommended against it - will find the page on my kindle app and screen cap it.... Xx

Here you go. No evidence to say it's any good, and could in fact be harmful, so I didn't bother with it! Xx

Tapdancing, I was taking it for scarred tubes and endometrioma and although it didn't help me in enough time for ivf it helped quite a few ladies. Cajungirl is one whose tubes were unblocked by serra and she had a baby naturally.
There is also a endo blogger called ( I think) Melissa McCarthy who raves about serra.

Can I ask - do you all think it's still worth following the advice in the egg book even if we decide NOT to try another round of IVF? My DH isn't keen to try again, and I'm in 2 minds myself, but maybe the suggestions could improve chances of a natural pregnancy?? (Or am I dreaming?)

Check out the videos about egg quality on the CHR clinic website

They're the guys who pioneered DHEA

They say they've seen spontaneous pregnancies occur in women with v low ovarian reserve after taking DHEA, who then didn't need IVF

If it's improving egg quality for IVF no reason at all not to try and improve egg quality for TTC naturally

The body naturally selects the best egg to ovulate every month - and it only takes one, to use the old adage!

Thanks Bananafish, sounds like it's worth a try, especially as I've already just shelled out for all the supplements. I'd want to take them for 3-4 months before IVF anyway, so I may as well get started and we can decide what we're going to do about the IVF. Still waiting for my DHEA to arrive - I'm a bit nervous about taking it but it sounds like it's worth a try. I'd tried it before but I now realise that I'd just got the food supplement type, this time I've ordered the medical grade stuff Eek!!

I'm also reading The Blood Sugar Diet and intend to get organised and start that later this week, but without doing the low calorie element, just sticking with a low carb Mediterranean diet, as per the egg lady recommends. That's going to be a huge change for me, and probably the hardest part to stick with.

just as an aside, I wondered if other folk were finding that infertility runs in families? Did your parents have problems conceiving? Interesting to know, I was told that infertility can't be inherited but I'm not so sure.....

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind me joining as I have a question. I too am trying to do some natural fertility stuff to improve egg quality. I have been taking DHEA for about 2 months and am due to start IVF in the next couple of months. I has given me terrible acne so I am in two minds about continuing with it but decided to order another batch. Anyway, I ordered some from DHEA.com and it has been seized by customs! Has anyone else had this problem? Is it actually illegal to import into the UK? I have tried to find this out but not been able to find much out! I feel a bit like its a sign that I should stop taking it but if it is going to work I will put up with the acne if I have to!
