Our situation is as follows: I am not ovulating and my husband has a low sperm count (1 sample showed good quality but low). We are going to fertility clinic in a few weeks and I wondered what tests they might do at this stage and what our options might be?

Would really like to hear your experiences ladies!

Hi Amara123, I don't have anything to add as I am in the same boat as you I think! We found out recently that my husband's sperm is not great, (not normal, reduced numbers, low motility etc.) the doctor is referring us to a clinic but that's all we know.

I'm going to be watching this thread now!

Hello... After bloods it's usual to have an ultrasound to check your AFC (Antral follicle count) and your tubes with a HSG or hycosy, if they have any reason to suspect endo or fibroids a lap may follow. If you have no issues with tubes/poor egg reserve or any male factor issues you may be treated with meds like Clomid or have iui first (usually ladies with unexplained infertility or ovulation issues might do that first) after that the next stem is usually ivf if they decide you need it. I'm on ivf number 4 as we speak

They will probable repeat the blood tests to check whether you had them on right days for your cycle and to see if you did not ovulate that month but do others. And probably repeat spermatozoa assessment as it is renewed every 3 months so to see whether it is improving or has a medically low sperm count/morphology assessment etc - they test quite a few more things we found ( especially if done privately). Agree then test to check if Fallopian tubes clear - mine was a HSG ( flush fluid through to check whilst do x-ray). Quite a few months to wait/test and then go back for either more tests or official diagnosis and treatment plan ( if in an area that funds treatment and meet criteria and choose what to do from that).

Thanks ladies. It's what I thought. Am a bit nervous about the appointment, hopefully won't babble too much!
