Pcos + ovulating naturally + clomid?

Hi there, really new here this is my first post!

Quick question. I have been TTC for just over 2 years, I'm due to start clomid this month, I do have pcos but after losing 6 stones my periods have returned to somewhat normal, (28-35 days) day 21 tests do suggest I ovulate, if that's so then will clomid benefit me? I'm so worried about this because if I am ovulating then why wouldn't I be pregnant already? Could it be something unrelated to pcos?

I have PCOS but ovulate. I was told clomid wouldn't help (logical, as its job is to make you ovulate). We ended up being classed as unexplained and got lucky after three years ttc via ivf new never did find out what the problem was, but it definitely wasn't lack of ovulation. I had many monitored cycles and oved every time.

Congrats on your little one. On dear! That's a little disheartening. My partner already has a little girl so ivf is a no for us on nhs, my gyn says even though recent prog tests do show ovulation he suspects it's a little irregular? And taking clomid will make ovulation more predictable (I hope) who can you trust if you can't trust your doc? Lol I obviously wasn't ovulating before I lost weight due to very irregular periods, but now all my bloods seem fine I'm just so confused....

Hello,

I have PCOS but I do ovulate (according to blood tests). I was given Clomid for 2 cycles and then switched to Tamoxifen (thought I had side effects on Clomid but it was actually unrelated). Anyway, I got a BFP on Tamoxifen on the first cycle after 20 months. Apparently Tamoxifen is pretty much the same as Clomid - they both make you ovulate but (more crucially for me it seems) they both improve the quality of your eggs. Worth a go on Clomid I'd say!

Hi there,
I'm glad you posted this as I'd be keen to read others views on this also for some advice. My husband and I have been ttc for 14 months now. Both 35. We Have had all the tests so far come back normal/good. No sign of pcos in tests as with you, however I do get some of the symptoms!
The sub-fertility unit are going to prescribe me Clomid if we're still trying without success in May. From what I gather (from online sources) It sounds like it's worth a try. Although the NICE guidelines suggest otherwise for people who are ovulating, that it can have no benefit, its all very confusing isn't it.

sorry if that seems I'm hijacking your post lol. I just wanted to share my story with you and also learn from others experience. Very new to this too Smile.

Hello
My case was/is similar to eurochick's- I have pcos but ovulated regularly (albeit quite late in each cycle). My clinic recommended I try six cycles of Clomid before we pulled out the big IVF guns. It didn't do anything for me I'm afraid- didn't change the time of ovulation nor any BFP. It does seem to do the trick for some ovulating women though- so if you're not in a desperate hurry it could be worth a shot? Good luck.
