Prolactin

So who else can produce 'milk'?
I'm on 50mg clomid with no success so far.
I was on the pill for 20 years. Have had recent surgery to remove the ovarian cyst, fibroids and unblock Fallopian tubes. My progesterone is slightly low and my egg count is too (level of 13 which isn't that low) and I don't ovulate regularly normally.
I've had 'milk' production for years. Never thought anything of it.
DH did some research and found that high levels of prolactin can cause infertility.
Anyone else have this?

I stopped bf'ing DS1 at 14 months in order to start trying for DC2. However, I could still produce milk six months afterwards. My GP tested my prolactin levels, amongst other things, and found very high levels and referred me for an MRI scan to rule out a tumour. The scan came back clear and the endocrinologist at the hospital wasn't particularly bothered by the number. However, when I moved to the US six months later and went through all the tests at the fertility clinic, my prolactin was still too high (by which time it was 12 months after stopping the BF). My fertility doctor immediately prescribed Bromocriptine which slowly brought it down to within the 'normal' range. Unfortunately, it wasn't my only fertility issue and we did end up having to go through a few IVF cycles. Good outcome for us though as I'm currently 30wks pregnant.

Well the results are back and my prolactin is normal.
Maybe I'm just wired.

What's their definition of "normal"? My British endocrinologist and American fertility docs had very different views.

I can't remember.
I'll find out and do some more investigating.
