Endo scratch before IVF

Hi,

Went to the clinic in prep for my first ivf attempt and he mentioned the endo scratch-he said that success rates are double with women that have had the scratch.

Just wondered if any had this before? Was your treatment successful and if anyone had any more info on it.

Thanks in advance :)

I definitely think that an endo scratch helped our 2nd ivf attempt. We had 2 a grade eggs put back and both implanted. It was painless for me because I was already sedated after a cyst aspiration and the recovery was fine too. I think the consultant wanted to throw everything at this attempt as the clinic was due to close the next month. I would recommend it x

I have also been reading with interest...I hadn't heard of endo scratch until today-was suggested for me prior to 3rd IVF attempt. I was a bit concerned though as on my failed attempt in March my lining was thin and I'd heard about scarring to lining and ashermans? I was worried the scratch might lead to this? Also, does anyone know if the endo scratch helps lining thicken?

Lumsi, are you there? Please share your IVF lessons. We are listening. I'm strongly thinking of going for a scratch for my FET in August.

I had an endo scratch. I conceived successfully on first try of IVF (after 2 failed IUIs). I think it's supposed to help "switch on" the endometrial cells so that the egg implants. I thought it was worth trying to give the cycle the best possible chance of success
