Hashimotos Disease and planning for a baby

Any help would be appreciated. I was diagnosed with hashimotos disease 3 years ago which is still under review via my doctor.

My partner and I are planning to have a baby as soon as possible and im having my implant removed in 2 weeks. I have heard from other internet sites that hashimotos can affect the chances of getting pregnant but not sure how true this actually is.

Does anyone have any advise on people to talk to, sites to go to etc or any advise they have themselves.

Much appreciated

I also have Hashimoto's which was only discovered when I had basic blood tests after ttc for 6 months without success. You'll want to make sure your TSH is well within normal ranges when you're ttc and make sure you stick with your thyroxine. When you get pregnant you'll be referred for special consultant led pregnancy care to make sure your TSH levels are managed during pregnancy. I had monthly blood tests throughout but no other issues.

The downside is there's a raised miscarriage risk with Hashimoto's, they don't seem certain why, but we still managed to get ds :)

I second Patsy99 comments. I have Hashimoto's but with well managed tsh levels have one DS and am 19 weeks with number 2. It is vital to keep taking your thyroxine during pregnancy asitis essential for brain development.
