Hypothalamic amenorrhea treatment - anyone?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to MN and this is my first post.

My DH and I have a beautiful DS, who is 15 weeks old. I conceived him using infertility treatment for hypothalamic amenorrhea. I currently live in mainland Europe and was very lucky to receive excellent care and the whole process took 18 months from start to finish.

We would like to have a second child and we don't want a huge gap between the two, but initially I was thinking about 12 months before I try again. However, I do not know what the NHS treatment is for this condition, or how long it takes. This is important because we are moving back to the UK soon and the decision about exactly when would be made around use of the system again here if the system at home is very slow or the treatment isn't great.

Does anyone have any experience of HA treatment in the UK and what did you get / how long did it take?

Sorry - just to clarify, if we were to try here before we left, we would be trying when he was 6mo as we would need to leave asap after that. However, I'm not getting any younger, so it would be better to do that than risk a long wait on the NHS.

Hi - I also have this, I am sorry to say that the nhs have not been very helpful. It depends where you live, but as you already have a child I doubt you will get fertility treatment - not ivf in any case. I don't have any children and am having to save up to go private as pct won't help me in my area.
