Hi All..

Am new here.. been stalking a few baby/mummy website recently. Not trying not preventing since my miscarriage in April 2010 at 7/8 weeks. And havent been able to get pregnant.. Did 2 cycle of day 21 blood test for progesterone and the 2 tests has come back with less than 1.
I got myself a ClearBlue fertility monitor last month. And it said, peak on d9 and d10. So my fiance and i did all that we could around that time. I tested pregnancy test on day 6 past ovulation, and it was positive.. felt the pregnancy symptom too... but last week the symptom disappeared..so i went for beta hcg, no HCG found in my blood. dr said, it is probably chemical pregnancy. and my period started yesterday. bleeding is much heavier than my usual months.

anyway am a little fed up. gonna keep trying.

i have a box of Clomid sitting in my medicine cabinet. I haven't had the urge to take it yet. I had that prescribed to me a year ago by a specialist from my home country but i got pregnant in april so i didnt take it. i am very tempted now to start on it. but am very concern on the low progesterone if it will affect any potential pregnancy?

anybody have any thoughts...? Xmas Confused Xmas Sad

thank you :)

I would refrain completely from using the OPK in such circs as they can be misleading to the user.

If your progesterone level is out of sync, then it is likely that your LH and FSH levels (which should be tested around day 2) are also out of sync as well. LH and FSH are two very important hormones that kickstart the ovulation process.

GP should really refer you to a gynae; you need a diagnosis first and foremost.

Why was the clomid prescribed initially?. I ask this as it is usually given to women who present with ovulation problems (polycystic ovaries is a common cause of irregular periods).

Do not use the clomid in the cabinet (it may have exceeded its use by date); self medicating with it is a very bad idea because you should be monitored whilst on it as it can affect hormone levels markedly. Its quite powerful stuff designed to make the ovaries work harder.
