It may not be April the 1st but it is May the 5th, which is the day before a General Election, which I think has a lot to do with why the Mail has chosen to publish this story today.

Nancy66 · 05/05/2010 11:44

it's a story lifted from Closer - which comes out on a Tuesday which is why the Mail has used it today.

I have only read the title here.

I am a major pain in the ass and increadibly grumpy. I can grump for days and days. I can make grown men cry.

Can I get some money please?

mumofmonsters · 05/05/2010 12:02

Closer dig out these families a lot don't they?!

sethstarkaddersmum · 05/05/2010 12:02

Hell yes BadgersPaws - they probably have a file of anti-benefit stories and this one had a post-it on it that said 'Dynamite! Day before election?'

you can see them sitting at a table with a selection of anti-benefit stories laid out in front of them in order of how much ire they are likely to incite.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 05/05/2010 12:10

I am a bit astonished by this, but I hardly think that 20 grand a year is raking it in. I too can make people cry, can I have some cash please?

TheCrackFox · 05/05/2010 12:27

OK, I admit I can't be arsed reading the actual article but if he is "too moody for work" does this actually translate as "anger issues"? If so, he needs to get help because I refuse to believe that this will not affect his DCs somehow.

However, more than likely he is a lazy tosser.

It doesn't ring true. The quotes don't sound quite like real, spontaneous speech.

"We made up some bt about Lee chucking me out as we knew if we played the game I'd get another house."

"if we played the game I'd get another house" sounds like exactly the way a third party might say something. It's too pat.

TwoIfBySea · 06/05/2010 01:08

It happens. So either something gets done about it or people like this will continue being completely dependent with that attitude of self-entitlement. This whole disability issue seems to be up for abuse which must make those who really are genuinely ill feel really good about themselves.

For the record, I have depression, I hold down a part-time job, am studying for a degree, look after my elderly mother and dts, do voluntary work as well. Gosh if I had no morals and worked the system like this lot do then I'd be minted. As it stands we get nothing in handouts, pay full rent and council tax and all so people like this can whine about how sht their lives are. Gimme a fcking break.

Wonder if he has intermittent explosive disorder?
