I know I'm not supposed to be here but it all seems to be going off right outside my door right now.

Barking Station has been closed, everyone is being evacuated, I was about to go there to get the overground to Lakeside, when I left I thought no - where better for a bomber than a busy shopping centre on its busiest day of the week. I will walk to Ilford, loads of people milling around, things just didn't feel right. Decided not to bother going to Ilford even, just take DS to the park. Got outside, still loads of people, one old chap stopped me and told me not to go because they think there is a bomb at the station. I know it is most likely a false alarm but this is really reealy getting to me. I want to get out of London, like, now and go and stay with my parents. Nothing on the news about it either, which is probably a good thing, but still I want to know what is going on. I overlook the tube line here. I'm sorry but I need to rant, my parents are out, DP is in bed on nights and won't want to go over all this right now - bearing in mind all the goings on it is even more important right now that he is able to function well at work. This really is doing my head in.

Dh from Chard, do the Yeovil carnival myself with the kids club, used to do BW but too long for little uns!. DH won too many times anyway, got bored

Isn't yeovil the only place in the county apart from bridgy where you can buy ahouse for under a quarter of a mill?

Are they that much now? My parents brought their house about 6 years ago for 80,000. It's just up from the hospital, five minute walk from town, 3 bedroomed, garage, large, beautiful garden 1920's house. I do wonder how much it is worth now. It's amazing the prices everywhere atm isn't it? We would only be able to get a key worker scheme mortgage, and haven't got round to trying to arrange it yet.

It's certainly expensive there now, Yeovil and Bridgy OK, Chard and Ilminster cost a bit more but (if it weren't for MIL living there) would be nice places to live.

We gave up on buying for the moment, renting until I qualify (another 4 years!). We can get a decent house this way, no chance otherwise. Where we live in Wales (Caerleon, moved here 6 weeks or so ago) it's relatively expensive for the area, but close to uni. And we have a fab little white terraced cotatge that we just adore.

The waterfront indeed, they are doing lots of development near the @Bristol site which looks fabulous. We used to live in Hotwells and loved it there as was nice with the docks and everything and obviously so close to the centre.

I am in North Somerset now, jsut over the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Ham Green.

Think my ex went to uni there! Came from v posh village in dorset. My parents were actually impressed with who I brought home for a change, they could discuss books with him Although he was 5 yrs older than me at 16 - I'm not convinced I'd be happy if that were my daughter!

i got an offer from that Uni , I kept the offer letter for bristol but accepted one less scary and posh!

(I know it isnt supposed to be really, but it scared me!)
