anyone know if there is more to this story or is health & safety gone mad again? www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2010/mar/24/boy-school-tree-wiltshire-police health&safety

True apparently. Makes me laugh. I shall start up a company providing tree climbing (below 15 feet) and rescue services to all schools and playgroups. I should make a fortune.

And as far as I know, trespass is only illegal if you are asked to leave by the land owner and you refuse. So if I'm quick up the trees, they can't even get me for trespass.

oh here

Why didn't they just have a word afterwards and say thanks but in future if you see it can you leave it because we like to do x, y and z.

It seems odd to tell people that they should not assist children who they perceive to be in difficulties. And to get the police onto them when they were trying to help. Why would you do that?

It's all so depressing isn't it.

I'm all for leaving children up trees, but sounds like the Head handled this badly.
