I'll agree with that Edam, I think you'll be hard pressed to find anyone who didn't think the country needed a change from the tories but any party that has been in power too long becomes out of touch and believe they can do whatever they like and so it is now.

What worries me with Brown is his 'belief' that he should be leader even to the detriment of the party, he could easily have resigned with dignity and allowed a new leader to take them into this election but his 'it's me me me' attitude only serves to prove the allegations against him.

Sleeze on all sides but a prime minister with a 'god' complex is too worrying.

"And the affairs from all those 'family values' types. "

"But no 'executive' at the acme of his/her career steps down lightly, especially politicians as you can hardly hop to another country and carry on. "

But surely you should put country and party ahead of your own needs and wants?

ImSoNotTelling · 22/02/2010 19:37

Easy peasy

atlantis · 22/02/2010 19:41

AuntieMaggie · 22/02/2010 20:04

Did they actully say that it was GB that had bullied the victim or someone in his office?

morningpaper · 22/02/2010 20:57

Anne Widdecombe has resigned as a patron

The right decision I think, as Pratt is making very bad decisions here

I agree with atlantis' earlier posts.

Anne Widdecombe probably does act according to her conscience and in the interests of the nation, but it would be bonkers to think that all tories do. However the moats and duck houses have exposed a lot of the worst tories who believed they were entitled to a free ride, I hope.

EggyAllenPoe · 23/02/2010 09:46

i think the expenses scanadal exposed a gret number of politicians who were in it for a free ride...

and some who were out and out criminals.

and these days, it seems, you can have an affair and keep your job as a prominent politician.

I know this is a Zombie thread, so should probably start another one.

But, my goodness, I wish I'd found this thread before I called them. I can't believe the organisation is still running, and still calling itself a charity on Facebook.

It's not registered with the Charity Commission, it's not a registered company, its just a woman taking donation and running a highly suspect private company that takes "donations".

Now I've done some research, I've found out that the head of the organisation (Christine Pratt) has been repeatedly accused of workplace bullying, lost employment tribunals, and the reviews of the organisation are awful!

Please be careful and check before you call.

At the time this thread was started it was a registered charity, though came under investigation by the Charity Commission. Because of this scandal it shut down and Christine Pratt later opened a private company, without independent oversight, under the same name.

Most likely, resurrecting this thread will do more to advertise the line than warn people about it.
