David Milliband, in the lead up to Davos, mentioned that sanctions should continue in Zimbabwe until Morgan Tsvangirai had personally advocated for them to be lifted.

What that did was effectively ruin any negotiating power Morgan had - insiders reckon it set back the negotiations (in Zim) by at least a year becuase the opposition IMMEDIATELY turned around and said - right, Morgan, so these sanctions are all your fault then.

The British Foreign office had to issue a clarification and this isn't the first time they've had to issue a clarification re a comment he's made.

I can't say I've ever had any strong feelings about him but I'm beginning to think he's an incompetent buffoon who has no idea of foreign politics at all!

I have no problem with Labour but can't bear the thought of having someone in the foreign office who just doesn't 'get' foreign politics.

"but can't bear the thought of having someone in the foreign office who just doesn't 'get' foreign politics. "

Banana boy is quite frankly an embarrasment to not only the office he holds but to this country, you just have to look at how much money he cost us dragging out the whole torture issue and then critacising the judges involved and even begging for more time so he could tell 'hilary' in person he had lost in the courts and the secrets were coming out, shocking behaviour.

He hasn't got a clue not only on policy but how to act in public, he's like a little kitten happy when someone throws him a ball of wool to play with.

If this is the future leader of the Labour party .

Between banana boy and William Hague (the pitbull) I know who I would rather see in the role.

lol at banana boy, I suspect most people have that picture in their head when they think of him

it's a shame because I really do think he is dreadful (much like I think Osbourne is dreadful for the Tories - can't get the image out of my head of a 16 year old public school boy, he just seems too inexperienced to be chancellor).

I notice the Tories wheeling out Hague more and more. His public image, I suppose, is as a safe pair of hands and I have to admit, if you had to go through the parties and compare job to job, I'd rather have Hague than Milliband.
