I'm getting old. I'm overexcited at Delia's christmas programme, knitting and Classic FM.

I am looking forward to Christingle at Church, am devastated Terry is retiring and and I'm not yet 40.

All this now, what will I get excited about at 70?

My tastes continue to broaden.I'm 58. Know enough to begin to appreciate visual arts but still love popular TV. Musical tastes are also wide open too thanks to Jules Holland and others. Now here's a thought - should we go to any festivals next year. We have been to Edinburgh for the last four years but what about Latitude? Is it appropriate? We think so but feel a bit nervous. Cambridge Folk festival is a real possibility but that is playing it really safe. What do you think?

Delia's Christmas programme makes me incandescent with rage. What was she doing to that turkey the other night? Basting? You don't baste a turkey! Put it breast down and turn it over for the last 20 minutes so it crisps up, job done. She faffs so much.

I do love Christingle and Terry though. Chris Evans is going to be fab though, honestly. A changed man.

Go to festivals, Openbook. I love Wychwood (Chletenham racecourse early June) and Larmer Tree and would go to more if i could afford the money and the time. I look for an interesting mix of music, and would not go to the teenage dominated huge festaivals like Reading/Leeds. You'll find all ages and all types. YOU ARE NEVER TOO OLD

Thanks Tizztjacko that's all the encouragement I need! We bought a tent last year in the sale to cut costs. Roll on summer !

Tizzy, we love the Solfest here. Whats Wychwood like?

Wychwood has the best camping, civilised loos, lots and lots of families and an eclectic mix of music. It is small enough for the kids to go feral and really friendly. love it.

Sounds great.

I'm with you. I love the channel 4 news (on 4+1) and some knitting while DH puts DS to bed

Hello sisters...I recently bought

Good Housekeeping. I still shiver when I think about it. But it was the Christmas edition.
ALTHOUGH I am determined to attend a Burning Man festival before I am too old. Does one cancel out the other?

I've always knitted so that's no indicator of age. I knew I was getting old when I was pleased to see a new Robert Dyas had opened near us .
