No, you're right. There's a golden crunch too. No need to be

overmydeadbody · 17/10/2009 09:47

That is funny.

MusterMix · 17/10/2009 09:48

shudder at custard cream
IMO the correct answer will ALWAYS be a melting moment.

HerBewitcheditude · 17/10/2009 09:49

Did anyone here Today this morning?

Of course they focused on bloody Biscuitgate. Of course they did. And they got Dave and Clegg to say what biscuits they like.

I think Dave's was shortbread.

Can't remember Clegg's.

Could be wrong about Dave as well.

HerBewitcheditude · 17/10/2009 09:50

there should be a "hear" in that first sentence, obv

Besom · 17/10/2009 09:56

His guilty secret pleasure must surely be Tunnock's teacakes.

PeachesMcLean · 17/10/2009 09:59

Arf at Biscuitgate on the Today programme.

omg!! its been on tv too?? its everywhere.....twas just an innocent question....Aggie answered it pretty much straightaway!

GentleOtter · 17/10/2009 10:20

Kim.

PeachesMcLean · 17/10/2009 10:23

Thing is, it's everywhere because it's been put there by Gordon Brown's PR people. It brings an element of humaness close to the subject of him. Even though he didn't answer the bloomin question (nothing new there perhaps). It was his first webchat, it was as dull as dishwater, we brought it to life and he failed. And now he's basking in the glory. Grrrr.....

OP posts:
GypsyMoth · 17/10/2009 10:24

yep..that one!

PeachesMcLean · 17/10/2009 10:25

(I may have things slightly out of perspective there, I'm trying to avoid the cleaning...)

OP posts:
Quattrocento · 17/10/2009 10:28

He is so obviously a shortbread man. Funny that it got on Today.

I wonder why he didn't answer the biscuit question though. I mean, is it a state secret or something. One of the Good Things the Labour Government did was the Freedom of Information Act. So why are we being denied this crucial piece of information?

GentleOtter · 17/10/2009 11:13

It could have caused the 'Delia Effect', Quattrocentro, but in reverse.

If he had a penchance for, say, Dutchy Originals then the anti- monarchy lot would be miffed and Labour would lose votes.

If he had endorsed 'Fred Shufflewaith's Hard Tack with Extra Salt' then the fans of said biscuit would scramble to buy them and thus causing a panic buy and hoarding. Fence sitters may do a boycott for spite. The Scots would be horrified at the absence of sugar but mildly interested in the Extra Salt.

It was a slippery road to chaos and anarchy.

GordonBrownsTeaLady · 17/10/2009 11:15

"The Scots would be horrified at the absence of sugar but mildly interested in the Extra Salt".

What was in your breakfast GO, you are particularly funny this morning.

BobbingForPeachys · 17/10/2009 11:23

Shamelessly C&P from other thread'Oh hang on

oatcakes

oatcakes?

how many teams of pr experts did it take to come up with the blandest answer possible?

'we recommend you head for a choice that is sweet or savoury depending on topping, is affordable by all, popular in middle class households and priginated from within a non- Conservative locality in order to maximise cross border appeal, sir.

And whatever you do, don't say savers rich tea, because benefits claimants eat those you know'

PMSL

(actually I hate biscuits btw, anyone want to report that? No?.....)
'

BTW in some people a mild gluten reaction to aoat base dproducts can reportedly cause mild aggression, so hobbnobbs and oatcakes (I avoid oats at all costs or I turn into a screaming banshee).

I predict if we vote in an oat eater then we will be in Iran within days

BobbingForPeachys · 17/10/2009 11:25

(On other thread

Clegg hobbnobbs Cameron oatcakes

please someone tell me I should care? maybe we should get GB back to talk about squash flavours, or chicken recipes instead? I''d predict GB = KFC, NC = a nice light broth and DC = risoto with porcini mushrooms

vachebleu · 17/10/2009 12:54

Gordon has answered via the downingstreet twitter. Apparently anything with chocolate, but trying to cut down. (Sorry posting on my mobile, so no link)

PeachesMcLean · 17/10/2009 13:15

Answered via twitter???

How rude. It wasn't twitter which asked.

Tsk.

purepurple · 17/10/2009 13:50

I just hate the way that politicians dodge all the important questions.

BobbingForPeachys · 17/10/2009 13:53

I have a horrid image now of Gordy stood in his pyjamas by the half light, troughing choccy biccys in handfuls, all smeared in chocolate goo.

Did I mention I don't like chocolate either?

I do like Gordy though, just not smeared in choccy or eating biccys.

GordonBrownsTeaLady · 17/10/2009 14:11

How rude to answer on twitter. I'm with you Peaches. That's crap.

pagwatch · 17/10/2009 14:26

I LOVE that this is a 'gate

IwantGordonTHATway · 17/10/2009 14:32

Chocolate covered Gordon - ooer! Don't think I could manage a whole one.
