Here. What do others think to this? I am neither for nor against homeopathy, I kind of figure that if it doesn't work then it's not going to do any harm, but I suppose if people are eschewing proper medical treatment in favour of homeopathy then it's a problem.

I have an appointment next week and will enquire earnestly about homeopathic treatments. If she seems to think they are more than placebos, I'll switch.

I found out last week in the waiting room, when I finally took the time to read her bio in the practice information leaflet. I was surprised, though have had no complaints about her so far and she has only offered me conventional medicine.

I would ask the GP why s/he used homeopathy and if s/he said 'Because it's a cost-effective placebo and if I give it out rather than the patient going to a homeopath it it means they remain under medical supervision', I would not change doctors! If they said 'Because science hasn't got all the answers and it works because of quantum physics and the memory of water' I might.

Good. And hopefully the WHO has been more careful in its choice of terminology, and targeted the practice rather than the practitioners, than poor old Simon Singh.

See a homeopath (or pray, or whatever) by all means, so long as it is as a complementary 'treatment' but not as an alternative to validated methods.

Shame the practice info doesn't seem to be online or I would link...
