Shahid Malik MP attacks constituent who dares to question his expenses claims...

Malik came to a constituency meeting last week to tell everyone that he'd done nothing wrong.

What's worse, he had the cheek to lose his rag and shout at a 90 year old lady! Because she told him, very firmly, he was like a naughty schoolboy who steals four sweeties from a jar but says he's done nothing wrong because another boy stole six.

He also accused the Telegraph of racism of course... despite it exposing plenty of white MPs.

(I happen to know about this because the elderly lady is my Godmother and has spent her life working for the Labour party because she believes very strongly in social justice.)

His claims included maximum second home allowance despite renting his constituency home for only £100 a week... £2,100 for a flat screen television, £1,420 for a bathroom, £671 for a fireplace, £730 for a massage chair and a claim for an iPod. (Fees Office actually paid £1,050 for the TV and £250 for a DVD system, as well as the other claims). Also claimed for a £65 court summons for not paying council tax.

Edam - I am active in my local party and I am heartily sick of the current big brother attitude.
It appears that we are not allowed to question anymore.
Any questions over MPs expenses, GPs policies re the economy, Ed Balls current attack on home education are all met with the same patronising frown. Apparently we don't understand. Apparently we have to keep out mouths shut to win the next election.
I am so pissed off with it all.

Especially if it's Labour - given the way the Cabinet behaved just before the local elections, they really pissed all over the ordinary members who gave up their time to trudge the streets and had to take the abuse directed at the sodding MPs.

How dare the top brass treat ordinary party workers with contempt? Especially now...

There are a load of rotten MPs on both sides of the house who need kicking out. A general election is the best way of doing this.

As far as I can tell labour are every bit as crooked and dishonest as the tories.

lots of them across all parties have behaved like crooks. Will a general election change that? Some of the most high-profile will have stepped down, but plenty of shysters will remain, even if we have a government of a different hue.

Malik went to the backbenches temporarily while his arrangement with his landlord to get a cheap rent was checked out, but is back in government now - yet he's still been claiming max. second home allowance while renting what is really his second home very cheaply. Unless he somehow manages to commute from Dewsbury to London every day...
