twat

surely it doesn't take a genius to realise that carrying "secret" documents uncovered and facing outwards at any time is rather stupid, and even more so when you're arriving at no.10 where there are BOUND to be photographers.

Do you know I toyed with the idea of starting this exact thread.

With the same exact comment.

What a twat.

it's not the first time Quick has been less than quick-witted though (sorry, couldn't resist the appalling pun).

edam · 08/04/2009 22:41

Lovely to know our most senior anti-terrorism officer hasn't heard of that new device to foil nosy-parkers. Think it's called a briefcase...

Or maybe he doesn't earn enough to buy one, despite his earnings from the Met + that car hire business he's running on the side (complete with adverts showing/listing his home address).

CurlyhairedAssassin · 08/04/2009 22:41

Makes you wonder......no-one is that stupid. Maybe he did it on purpose for some reason known only to him.

Or maybe his secretary is just dense and he is too blase.

FAQinglovely · 08/04/2009 22:42

"for some reason known only to him."

shame he didn't let everyone else concerned in on his plans LOL.

I expect his secretary was off and he was lost without her.

Oh, I don't know about no-one being that stupid, Curly, this guy has form...

spicemonster · 08/04/2009 22:50

I work with confidential documents all the time and I'd lose my job if I did that. What a shame the same rules don't seem to apply to the police (although in a week when they seem to be getting away with possible murder I don't know why I'm surprised)

weebump · 08/04/2009 23:02

What an eeeeeeejit!
I don't even carry addressed envelopes facing out when I'm on my way to the post box! You never know who could see what. He of all people should know that.

donnie · 09/04/2009 08:51

I actually feel sorry for him - I really do.

edam · 09/04/2009 09:21

For someone who made a stupid mistake that put lives at risk? Because the arrests had to be brought forward and people who are thought to be dangerous terrorists had to be seized in public.

Nancy66 · 09/04/2009 09:22

he's resigned now.

Policeman in 'not very bright' shocker. Well I never.

FAQinglovely · 09/04/2009 09:33

agree with Edam - how can you possibly feel sorry for him?

If I feel sorry for anyone it's the officers on the ground who had been presumably carrying out surveillance and gathering evidence on those that were arrested. Their whole operation rushed because of a dim-witted mistake
