I have to say that I'm not keen on the names that the Olivers have chosen (middle names rather than first names) Poppy Honey and Daisy Boo, but each to their own, and celebrities can get away with much more than the rest of us mere mortals. No offence to anyone with Poppy's and Daisy's, but Boo?! Too much Monsters Inc.

Agree with you Pam, Poppy and even Honey (given the culinary connection) are sweet and Daisy is lovely (maybe not so lovely at 37 as at 3 months!) but Boo is definitely wierd!!!

Claireandrich · 12/04/2003 20:43

Apparantly Boo is a nickname of Jules Oliver - I read it in some celeb magazine I think. I really like Poppy and Daisy. Agree the middle names are more unusual but certainly Honey isn't unique - isn't Jonathan Ross's daughter called Honey?

I wish I had looked as great as CZJ when I was pg!!!

Ghosty · 12/04/2003 21:28

erm ... I feel a bit sad about the comments about CZJ too ... just because she is famous doesn't mean she has to be a stick whilst pg ... and the comment about Gail Porter ... not fair ....
I think it is refreshing to see celebs look normal ....
Give them a break ....

clucks · 12/04/2003 22:07

CZJ stalks my pregnancies and this time she is bigger than me, but I get comments about being much lovelier pregnant and it really is the subcutaneous fat that smooths you over. I think she's v. pretty, especially now. DH thinks she looks like a farmer's daughter...probably a compliment.

katierocket · 12/04/2003 22:43

I agree with batters and ghosty, yes CZJ is rich, yes she is a 'celebrity' and acts like one sometimes but I don't see the point in the 'gosh isn't it fab that she's so huge comments' - sorry to be a kiljoy but she's heavily pregnant, probably feels crap and has thousands of people going "oooo, doesn't she look fat and horrid"

Demented · 12/04/2003 23:39

Posh spice is my stalker, she just can't see green cheese!

leander · 12/04/2003 23:39

I too think CZJ looks lovely,I wasn't as big as her but i think she carries it better than i did, but then again i probably would have looked as glam as her if my maternity clothes cost thousands instead of from next!!

jasper · 13/04/2003 15:14

I confess I am heartened to see celebs looking as big as possible when pregnant, not out of any nastiness but because they invariably go back down to their svelte former selves and that is the bit which gives me hope.

Crunchie · 14/04/2003 09:38

Well I'm glad everyone approves of my girls names, I told Jamies and Jules just the other day....

Actually I really like their choice of middle names becasue they are so personal. I have Poppy Maria and Daisy Imogen. I love Imogen, but I wish I had gone for the Hermione that I was planning for Poppy. I wimped out becuse of the Harry Potter connection, but we had chosen it becasue of the Shakespearian context. Boo is so sweet as a nickname.

It just annoys me as I chose these names about 6 yrs ago (before I was married!) and they were not common at all, now all those flower names are popular. Maybe we'll go for a Primrose next!

NQWWW · 14/04/2003 11:50

I have a 35-year old cousin called Daisy, and I can assure you the name is still as lovely at that age, oxocube! Her sister is called Rose, and we all trembled a bit when my aunt & uncle had their ds..... but don't worry, he's not called Daffodil.

I love the flower names too. But am I the only one printing off the top 100 names for the past 5 years and ruling out anything that's been in the top 50?

bells2 · 14/04/2003 14:35

NQWWW, they don't have a third sister called Bay by any chance do they??

NQWWW · 14/04/2003 14:45

Bells - no they don't - must be someone else.

zeinab · 14/04/2003 21:57

I know the ones with Bay, Bells 2. do you or how do you and which ones do you know?

bells2 · 15/04/2003 08:13

I know R and was at her wedding and have followed the career of her sisters with interest!.

zeinab · 17/04/2003 12:44

Yes, I know R as well.
And a friend used to go out with D.

mum2toby · 17/04/2003 13:17

Whoa..... this is far too cryptic!!!!

Angel78 · 17/04/2003 14:51

Demented,Posh Spice is your pregnancy stalker too? When were your darlings born? Must be almost same as mine. Ds-Jan 99 and dd-March 02.

judetheobscure · 17/04/2003 18:29

NQWWW - I only wish I had managed to persuade my dh to keep out of the top 50. He just wouldn't agree to anything even slightly out of the normal. I told him I would never forgive him if ds1 in particular ended up in the top 10; he swore blind that ds1's name would never get into the top 10 - he'd hardly heard of it when I suggested it even though I told him it was getting a bit too popular for my liking. It was in the top 10 about 3 years in a row, still in the top 20 . I do love the name so I've sort of forgiven dh.

Angel78 - DS1 Jan 99 and DS2 June 02, almost the same as you. I think both of them were born just before Posh's babies, she must have heard my pregnancy announcement and didn't want to be left out!

anto · 18/04/2003 22:14

Jules Oliver is my pregnancy stalker! I gave birth to dd2 in Queen Charlottes hospital on 31 March and named her Daisy. 10 days later, Jules Oliver gave birth in the same hospital, same consultant...and same name!!! She was even in the room next to the one I had been in. Must admit I did feel a twinge of annoyance b/c now everyone will think I am a complete sheep...but I got there first...honest!

I also thought CZJ was a Liz Taylor lookalike at the Oscars. She is enormous but still looks bloody glam in a scary kind of way!

mum2toby · 22/04/2003 08:12

CZJ had a wee girl yesterday. 6lb something.... aw bless. Wonder if she was too posh to push??

Philippat · 22/04/2003 08:24

according to teletext, 6lb 12, and she had it at home. Congrats to them.
