link doesn't work? But yes I heard something on Radio 2 news this morning.

nope - and I'm afraid your link is bust - so i've still not seen it.

yes, sounds cool. It's in Dorchester so not too far from me, I'm tempted to go and see what kind of stuff they've got in the store. She said that whilst Woolworths was going down nationally, the Dorchester store was doing well so it made sense to re-open.

They don't do CD's or kids clothes though apparently, but a load of other local stuff is in there.

I think it's fab
what a story it would be if it takes off and others follow
she'll be a modern day heroine

Hulababy · 11/03/2009 22:19

They do pick and mix

EustaciaVye · 12/03/2009 10:33

Good for her.

This is exactly what each Woolies should have been doing anyway. Our High Street has plenty of homeware, CDs and DIY but since the demise of Woolies, there's nowhere to buy toys, children's clothes or stationery. I expect that's reflected on high streets nationwide but obviously each one would need to stock a different range. By trying to be all things to all people on every high street in the country, they were bound to fail.
