Answer the questions here and it will tell you who you really want, apparently. Haven't done it yet...

lib dem/green but no way I'm voting lib dem whilst evan harris is showing his ugly mug. no idea who I''ll vote for.

wheresmyfroggy · 16/04/2005 08:39

Green party?????!!!!!!!!!

tatt · 16/04/2005 08:47

I went through this deliberately putting answers that I expected to generate conservative - and they did. So maybe its not fixed I'll vote for the person who has most chance of keeping Michael Howard out - because I do remember what the Conservatives did when they were last in office. Also having met Michael Howard - he is very arrogant and really does have "something of the night" about him

snafu · 16/04/2005 09:02

well, what else would a froggy vote?

mancmum · 16/04/2005 09:04

how weird -- as a die hard labour voter, I answered this very much based on my true beliefs fully expecing my answers tocome out labour and I am a lib dem.... urgh!!

Need to dust down the cloth cap and get the whippets out...

wheresmyfroggy · 16/04/2005 09:11

Snafu-

ionesmum · 16/04/2005 12:07

mancmum, if you really do believe in the principles of the Labour movement then there's no point in voting for them, as the current government clearly doesn't.

ladymuck · 16/04/2005 13:50

OK, I'm probably going to lose all credibility here, disclosing that I haven't got the faintest idea about the Labour manifesto, but which of the statments were Labour policies? I know that they are pro-id cards, and pro-house arrest without trial and pro-EU constitution - are there any other Labour policies in there (rather than just being say anti-the Conservative/Lib Dem position on something?) Because if those are the only Labour policies in there, then it is hardly surprising that most people aren't showing up as Labout voters.

It does seem to give the "right" answer if you are a Conservative though... I wonder if you get a strong LibDem push if you vote for the 50% tax rate and for free longterm care for elderly and abolition of uni fees?

happymerryberries · 16/04/2005 13:53

I got lib dem and I had decided to vote lib dem (or rather to continue to vote for them), before I did the test

serenity · 16/04/2005 14:10

Me and Dh (life long Labour voters!) both got Lib dem. Dh wouldn't vote Lib Dem, but I do have a soft spot for them (my dad was heavily involved in the Young liberals when I was little), it would be a wasted vote in my constituency however.

Cam · 16/04/2005 14:41

Lol ionesmum and how true is that

Green followed by LibDem, UKIP and Con. Actually, I was surprised at how many issues I didn't really have any strong feelings for, cannabis, fox hunting etc.

ionesmum · 16/04/2005 20:38

Cam

Have to say that I thught a lot of issues weren't even covered on this. Even though I am a Green (and vegetarian) I can't imagine deciding who to vote for on the basis of the foxhunting debate. There are so many more important things to worry about.

NomDePlume · 03/05/2005 14:16

Slightly odd, I got LibDems too.

NomDePlume · 03/05/2005 14:20

Lib Dem - 16

Green - 15

Labour - 8

Con - -1

UKIP - -2

I thought I'd come out as Labour too ! Off to check out the LibDem & Labour sites...

Lizzylou · 03/05/2005 14:21

I got strongly Green, with Lib Dems next!!! V strange!

handlemecarefully · 03/05/2005 14:29

Doesn't work for me - I should vote Lib Dem apparently (over my dead body, would cost me a fortune). I might agree with a lot of their policies, but the tool is not sophisticated enough to take into consideration that one or two of their policies that I disagree with have more weighting for me than the greater number of things I agree with

NomDePlume · 03/05/2005 14:30

that's a very good point hmb. As Ladymuck says, 'if only we could cherry pick policies'....

JoolsToo · 03/05/2005 14:30

hmc - lend us a tenner?

handlemecarefully · 03/05/2005 14:31

you don't think this is a propaganda tool designed by Lib Dem Central Office do you, bearing in mind how many people are surprised with being told they should vote Lib Dem?

handlemecarefully · 03/05/2005 14:31

Pee off JT!

TokenBloke · 03/05/2005 15:14

Urgh!! What's this - I got the Green party!! Even though I seemed to disagree with all their key issues. I was just one point behind with Labour however.

I agree though - this does seem to include a high number of points that are key LibDem manifesto things.

Unfortunately, I don't think we have a Green party candidate standing locally...

hannahsaunt · 03/05/2005 16:28

Green closely followed by the SNP!!! Not sure where that came from - in favour of reclassifying cannabis and for Scotland to not have more parliamentary power than at present. Very bizarre. Still haven't decided who to vote for...

dramaqueen72 · 03/05/2005 17:05

omg, i got tories +16. never voted tory in my life. dh will be thrilled..........
