Where do we think we would place this on the spectrum?

LMAO

sagacious · 12/02/2009 12:21

Crikey

I'm more concerned at the police brutality aspect tbh but what a fab photo !

nickytwotimes · 12/02/2009 12:21

Love it!

travellingwilbury · 12/02/2009 12:22

I was just reading about this . Its the kind of thing my dad would have let us do and I am thankful for it .

Highlander · 12/02/2009 14:20

there';s no way I'm letting DS1 see this photo. he's desperate to investigate our chinmney

solidgoldbullet4myvalentine · 12/02/2009 14:23

I think arresting the bloke was absolutely idiotic and far more harmful to his DC than letting them be a bit adventurous - as the end result of them seeing their dad wrestled into a squad car over something so trivial is going to be them either turning out absolute chickenshits scared of their own shadows, or anarchists with nothing but contempt for the police.

TheCrackFox · 12/02/2009 14:26

My grandad broke his back when he fell of a rooftop at 12 years old.

Arresting him was over the top but he should have had a bollocking. Bloody stupid.

Tortington · 12/02/2009 14:29

what an idiot - a prime candidate for parenting classes imo - if he can't see the danger in his children reading on a fucking chimney. plank

Gorionine · 12/02/2009 14:35

I think the problem is nobody now thinks for themselves. You hear about a horible child abuse story and all of the sudden every single parent is neglecting their children if doing something a bit "unconventional" with them! It is only going to get worse IMO.

I remember the sort of childhood I had, going in ditches with my dad to find worms for fishing! It was absolutely fantastic! The sad thing is I would never dare doing it with my own children for fear of being suspected of neglect!

I totaly agree with solidgold, the children are probably more shocked about what they saw happening to their dad thant by their trip up the cheminey!

Gorionine · 12/02/2009 14:38

I agree that rooftops are potentially dangerous, but they are sitting on it to take a picture, not dancing a tarantella on it!

seeker · 12/02/2009 14:44

I must be incredibly neglectful - I REALLY can't see the problem with this!

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 12/02/2009 14:55

Excellent! Just as divisive as I'd hoped!

Lady Glencora never caused any trouble at all - oh no, not her!

maybe unwise but hardly criminal

PussyNoMore · 12/02/2009 15:56

Hardly child abuse, again I'm more concerned with the police brutality.

stroppyknickers · 12/02/2009 16:01

Well, can't believe he thought it was a good idea. I'm thinking tw*t. What if the stack wasn't structurally sound? Or the recent high winds resumed. Am also thinking sanctimonious prig. Slightly different to "going in ditches with my dad to find worms for fishing".

ProfYaffle · 12/02/2009 16:02

I heard another report which said the children had harnesses on and the roof behind the chimney was flat, so not as dangerous as it first appears.

pmsl at the headline though.
