We never drive to school - it's walk or bus . Not many children are driven to school as there is no parking near school and lots of vicious traffic wardens. But there will never be a time either when we can leave children's stuff at school during the day - there just isn't the space at school (which has already overflowed into two buildings, one of which is quite far away).

I'd like to think common sense would lead you to notice that your child has gone beyond chubbiness rather than obsessive weighing but I might be being optimistic.
And I am amazed that in this day and age poeple still don't know what is a healthy diet and kids are so fussy. We ate what we were given! Or there was nothing else. (although my mother did boil begetables for hours to kill all the vitamins)
There's too much choice of junk and ready meals pretending to be healthy options when they aren't.

Excessive weighing is damagaging. there is no point in weighing your child a child twice a week. I only weigh my son once every three months, I also measure his height.

I think you get a better idea looking at the label on their clothes. If your three year old needs seven to eight year old clothes, it doesn't take a consultant paediatrian to know you got a problem.

My son is seven years old in a months time and is wearing seven to eight year old clothes. He is still overweight according to the charts, but I don't think it is desperate anymore. Infact he swam 75 metres today and is very active. I know that he will only get fitter.

I absolutely know i am not doing the right thing by weighing her so often but i get so panicky, i do measure her height too. looking at the labels is not always an indicator,it only works if your child is of average height.
