I would "guess" guilty. The story of the Jesus Juice really got to me.

guilty.A sad childhood yes, but that does not excuse being a paedophile which is what I think he is.And he uses his wealth and power to silence those standing up to him whcih is unforgivaable IMO.

I think he's guilty without a doubt. I also think he's some way mentally ill.

Theres too many strange things about him that I don't like. If he gets off with that I will be very suprised.

My opinion is that the State wouldn't spend millions if they didn't think they had a very good case.

I want to read that book, Amanda, no time, but I'd love to read it.
Guilty as hell, I'm afraid.
Where's Aloha? She can really go off on this topic!

I want to know what will happen to his children if he is found guilty. Presumably Debby Rowe doesn't want the older two and who knows who 'Blanket's' mother is. Would they go to Jackson's family or into care? If so can you imagine how many people would be out there trying to adopt them? Minefield.

Socci -- I used to be more open-minded about MJ, but then I heard (few weeks ago) Raymond Chandler being interviewed on Radio 5-Live by Simon Mayo, about the book he wrote (Amanda mentioned below). RC was very credible. He didn't talk about what was in the book, he talked about why he wrote it, how he got the evidence that is in the book, why the family didn't press charges. RC said that the book is all about presenting evidence (is that right, Amanda?). Simon Mayo called the book "disturbing". Why that choice of word? SM's tone of voice left me in no doubt that the book presented compelling evidence of very sick behavior.

I've read that his ex-wife now wants to see the children, in spite of signing papers to give up contact and taking lots of $ in exchange for her agreement. Evidently, she may also be prepared to testify against him in the trial. Also read somewhere that her wedding ring has recently been up for sale on E-Bay.

He's a very, very strange man, but I have no idea if he's guilty.

hercules · 07/03/2005 21:12

I dont know and wonder what happened with innocent until proven guilty.
He may not be "normal" as many people see it but that doesnt mean he is a child abuser.

happymomof2 - what do you mean by "sick in the head" ??

I dont tend to read these sorts of stories in the papers as i dont find them particularily trustworthy and they tend to be very one sided - sells papers after all.

zebra · 07/03/2005 21:39

I did feel like you do (Hercules & Socci)... until I heard Chandler speak. That really decided it for me. He self-published the book, I think it's worth a read.

I was very suspicious when I started the book about the author's motives. However, by the time I'd finished it I was convinved - lots of evidence in there. The original decision at the time was for a criminal trial but due to death threats against the Cahndler family and all the pressure they settled out of court. Hardly any of the adults emerge with much credit. Jordy Chandler's mother seems to have turned a very blind eye to what was happening. Jordy with MJ while she was shopping with MJ's credit card etc. There was also lots of stuff found at MJs ranch apparently at the time implicating him as a paedophile. Can't understand why it wasn't properly tackled then.

I think the man has serious mental health problems and am certain that he is a paedophile. I wouldn't leave my son with him in the way these other families have.

hercules · 07/03/2005 21:53

Child abusers can also appear very "normal" (sorry, hate that word) to outsiders.

zebra · 07/03/2005 21:59

Raymond Chandler was just so credible on the radio, he kept saying how he himself is a person who doesn't want to hear opinions (he & Mayo digressed onto discussing the media in general); RC said he wants to hear the facts, the evidence, so that he can make up his own mind. He's a lawyer by training... he wrote the book after seeing Martin Bashir's story on MJ, how disturbing he (RC) found that. RC said "I think that Bashir had no idea what MJ was going to be like"...

Amanda3266 · 07/03/2005 22:01

What has happened to Jordy Chandler in the intervening years - did RC say? The stuff he went through according to the book sounds utterly appalling.
