OK, quick poll inspired by David Willetts thread. Answer...

  1. How you would vote
  2. Who you usually vote for
  3. Main issue/personality/event which has made your decision.

  1. Labour
  2. Labour
  3. Boris Johnson....and David Cameron. I don't want a PM who smiles and rides a bike. I want someone a bit more unfathomable and remote. He's like the boy next door that always said hello to your parents in an irritating manner.

I don't actually know how to vote Tory. I think it might be a medical condition, or it is written into my DNA. I feel like god would strike me down the minute I ticked the box.

TheBlonde · 29/09/2008 18:14
  1. Tory
  2. Varies, have prev voted Labour, Lib Dem, Green in no particular order
  3. Boris

  1. Conservative
  2. Conservative
  1. As in previous elections, the absolute ineptitude and hypocrisy of everything this government has done for the last 11 years, as expected by me from May 2nd 1997.

  1. don't know
  2. liberal
  3. just generally not inspired by any of them (or even less inspired than usual - maybe I am just getting more cynical in my old age !). I tend to feel for democracy that it is time for a change - but I am not at all keen on the alternative.

  1. Liberal Democrat
  1. Policies in general - Vince Cable has been talking about what has being going wrong in the City for years. Loved Nick Clegg's speech - good man, good ideas.

Labour

Labour

I still haven't got over the Thatcher years. And Cameron is smarmy. And basically I think Gordon is a Good Guy.

Takver · 29/09/2008 19:26

Plaid Cymru

Labour (family dyed in the wool labour)

Lots of things, but particularly restrictions on civil liberties- id cards, 'terrorism' legislation which is then used against peaceful protestors, et al, plus Lab's total lack of ability to/interest in tackling climate change.

sunshine75 · 29/09/2008 19:29

Labour. There is no way I could ever vote Tory and although slightly disillusioned with Labour I feel they are the still the best choice.

The Tories would get rid of sure start as well.

Beetroot · 29/09/2008 19:31

Labour
Labour
I am struggling with it BUT I think that it has been shit for GB - the economy is a whorl wide problem - not just his fault. I could not actively get the Tory party in - I would never forgive myself. Things would not be any better and we would have to out up with slimy cameron!

Flamesparrow · 29/09/2008 19:34

lib dem
lib dem

give someone else a shot at f*ckin things up

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 29/09/2008 19:39

To bookthief - The Conservative Party is officially called the Conservative & UNIONIST Party. The Tories support the Union far more than the other parties - especially the SNP

beansprout · 29/09/2008 19:46
  1. Labour
  2. Labour
  3. The Tories don't change, they can't be trusted.

  1. Tory
  2. Labour
  3. Identity cards
spongebrainbigpants · 29/09/2008 19:48

Wow! Can't believe what a bunch of lefties there are on MN - although lol at the thought that's it's still really uncool/embarrassing to admit to being a Tory voter!

As for me:

  1. Lib Dem - tactical vote
  1. Lab/Lib Dem - always vote tactically against the Tories. Would rather eat the contents of my DS' nappy than vote Tory, EVER!
  1. I do despair at the state of the Labour Party and I think GB is a crap PM, but I too am old enough to remember the last Tory Govt and the thought of another one makes me feel ill. I'll never forget Neil Kinnock's speech of 1992, "I warn you not to be ordinary. I warn you not to be young. I warn you not to fall ill. I warn you not to get old".
noonki · 29/09/2008 19:48

1.Labour

2.Labour (though Lib dem once to stop tories)

3.I remember the 80's and tory hell, also it is free market economics that have got us into this mess, so the more rightwing we go the worse it will get. David 'bandwagon' Cameron lord preserve us arrgghhhh

happykatie · 29/09/2008 19:50

Other than the fact I couldn't ever bring myself to vote for the Labour Party, I could never vote for anyone who passed the Lisbon Treaty. What utter arrogance to believe that you can ignore the majority of people in this country and not grant a referendum on Lisbon despite saying you would do. And how dare Gordon Brown insult everybodies' intelligence by claiming there was no need for a referendum as it was a different treaty - even Angela Merchkel (can't spell that - The German one) claimed it was the same treaty in all but name.

Fell so angry typing this I feel ready to explode. Can't wait to be rid of the Labour Party.

kalo12 · 29/09/2008 19:52

labour, I actually think gordon brown is a very nice man.

there is no way I could vote tory. If they get in again that would be it for hospitals and schools in this country.

The credit crunch is not labours fault and that consevative equivalent of alastair darling looks like a snake
