BBC article

This comment made me laugh:
"Paediatricians and GPs can use this information in their daily practice - they can dissuade parents from using a pacifier [dummy] once their child has been diagnosed with acute otitis media to avoid recurrent episodes."

Yes I'm sure it's the parents using them

I know you're gonna find this really stupid (but what the hell) My DS had a dummy for years he wouldn't give it up (finally left it for Sannty at 4) but he is very prone and has always suffered with ear infections

My ds loved his dummy. Finally got it off him when he was nearly 4.

He used to have a lot of ear infections as well

DD1 had a dummy untl she was 3 1/2 years, never had an ear infection. A friends son didn't use a dummy and had to have low does antibiotics due to recurrent ear infections.
