So it says on BBC News.

Why should he care?
And why should we care what he thinks?

Most people have forgotten he's President anyway.

He probably said something like, "Ah, sure, doggone it, tell them Europeanistans they shud be havin' Turkey. Ah is all for good gaaahd-fearin' people celebrationin' Thanksgivin'. Yee-hah. Now, where did ah put them doggone plans for invasionifiyin' Iranistan?"

lol , would make life interesting here if they did!!!!

UnquietDad · 10/06/2008 14:35

Imagine if "Tony Brown" (sic) started lecturing him on who should and shouldn't be included in the USA!

brimfull · 10/06/2008 14:36

god he is such a wanker

mousemole · 10/06/2008 14:37

blardy hell, he just gets better with age doesn't he. I wonder what other bright ideas he has.

UnquietDad · 10/06/2008 14:38

To think we used to fear that Dan Quayle was a bullet away from the Oval Office. The man whose worst sin was not to know how to spell "potato."

OP posts:
wrinklytum · 10/06/2008 14:39

I'd be suprised if he had any ideas, never mind bright ones.

UnquietDad · 10/06/2008 14:41

Never mind, it will all soon be over...

You can buy "I survived the Bush Era" T-shirts!

Nagapie · 10/06/2008 14:44

First test would be to ask Bush to point to Turkey on the world map ....

Kewcumber · 10/06/2008 14:46

Nagapie -took the words out of my mouth. Actually I suspect he is referring to thanksgiving lunch and doesn't realise there's a country of the same name.

Nagapie · 10/06/2008 14:48

populated with Turkistans nno doubt!

Kewcumber · 10/06/2008 14:50

wasn't there a joke about Quayle - that if anyone assasinated Bush (verion 1) that secret service bodyguards orders were to immediately shoot Dan quayle...

Bet Quayle seems like quite a good option at the moment...

fryalot · 10/06/2008 14:51

must?

The arrogant war-mongering tosser is telling a country that has nothing whatsoever to do with his country that they must join the EU. And I suppose he is telling the EU that they must accept Turkey.

Who the fuck does this man think he is? Actually, that is the wrong question, I know who he thinks he is. I also know what the rest of the world think he is.

arse

I kind of wish I hadn't clicked on this now, I am rather annoyed... grr

QueenMeabhOfConnaught · 10/06/2008 14:51

The other joke was "Mickey Mouse has a Dan Quayle watch".

Kewcumber · 10/06/2008 14:53

mind you UQD the video of Dan Quayle correcting the spelling of that kid was really relly funny now that I recall it.

UnquietDad · 10/06/2008 15:15

When George retires, he'll have time to look through the rest of his library. There must be a good few books in there he's not finished colouring yet.

AtheneNoctua · 10/06/2008 15:23

Unquietdad, I tink you mean "potatoe". If you are going to criticise the man could at least misspell correctly?

AtheneNoctua · 10/06/2008 15:25

Nothing quite like a good old USA bashing thread.

Tell me now, which insecurity is driving this form of entertainement in which you so like to partake?

UnquietDad · 10/06/2008 15:26

Not USA-bashing. Just Bush-bashing. A favourite sport over here!

OP posts:
Nagapie · 10/06/2008 15:28

Sorry Athene - please point out the USA bashing that has gone on??

cestlavie · 10/06/2008 15:30

I think (and I could be wrong here) that the US and Turkey have fallen out a little lately as a result of a Democratic Congress deciding to retro-actively recognise the Armenian genocide by the Turks in the early 20th century and the Turks then refusing to allow the US access to/ flight paths over key strategic bases and areas which they'd been using to access Iraq.

It's something of a sore point because although apparently about 1.5 million Armenians were systematically wiped out by the Turks didn't automatically make it genocide in the eyes of the Turkish people as they were not government orchestrated or deliberate (not quite sure how you accidentally kill 1.5 million people, but hey!) A case of potato/ potatoe maybe?

AtheneNoctua · 10/06/2008 15:31

Do you remember when Quayle heard that Gore had claimed to invent the internet and replied "Yeah, and I invented the spellchecker." Now, that was funny. I like a person who is big enough to make a joke about himself.

Kewcumber · 10/06/2008 15:39

Bizarrely Wikipedia claim that Quayle might have mis-spelt potato because of his British education?! I fthey mean because our education system is crap they might be right but I suspect that they mean that we spell it "potatoe" [puzzled emoticon].

Hey Owly - there's so much meterial how can we not Bush bash - besides equally happy to take the piss out of British politicians...

mousemole · 10/06/2008 15:40

Athene - assuming you are American you should be pleased we know who your president is, as apparently no americans know who Gordon Brown is !!

AtheneNoctua · 10/06/2008 16:16

Maybe we could stick to criticising Bush for things he has actually said. As Kew points out there is plently of real material to go on. Why make up (absurd) things we all know he hasn't really said?

Never mind, I'm obviously spoiling your fun... carry on without me.

cestlavie · 10/06/2008 16:33

Ah well since we've given free rein to ridicule Dubya, here's a few of his quotes. I honestly almost wet myself at the last two...

"I promise you I will listen to what has been said here, even though I wasn't here." ?at the President's Economic Forum in Waco, Texas, Aug. 13, 2002

"We need an energy bill that encourages consumption." ?Trenton, N.J., Sept. 23, 2002

"I know what I believe. I will continue to articulate what I believe and what I believe ? I believe what I believe is right." ?Rome, Italy, July 22, 2001

"For every fatal shooting, there were roughly three non-fatal shootings. And, folks, this is unacceptable in America. It's just unacceptable. And we're going to do something about it." ?Philadelphia, Penn., May 14, 2001

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." ?Washington, D.C., Aug. 5, 2004
