Article here. I'm shocked and appalled that a) this happened at all, b) the fact that she got away with it for so long, and especially c) the fact that it happened at a nursery where the fees are almost £2,000 a month. I'd expect such an expensive provider to have the highest possible standards with the most stringent vetting of staff. The nursery where the abuse occurred has thankfully closed down and this despicable woman is now in prison. I also must mention the Guardian article doesn't mention that the fees were £1,900 a month. The Daily Mail article about it mentions that figure: mol.im/a/15137011

I live quite locally to this nursery. The are a chain - owned by Dukes Education no less, who own several other prep and secondary schools in the UK. £1900 sounds cheap tbh, they’re more like £2400.

The whole thing is horrendous - but my biggest question is… where was the oversight? Much of the abuse / general bad behaviour and lack of care was caught on CCTV - and seemingly no one noticed for months and months until parents started complaining?

The nursery had closed down but students and staff just sent to their other nurseries locally. If I had my child there I’d be wanting to understand how they managed the staff / safeguarding rules.
