I am wondering wether any other pilot in the RAF would be allowed to land in their girlfriends field?

here or would be allowed to use a military aircraft to fly to a stag party on the Isle of Wight, as William allegedly did!

Don't her parents own Party Pieces? Just shows how much money you can make out of parents! (Entirely legitimately, of course, just astonishing how profitable we are as customers.)

I thought they used to own Party Pieces - didn't they sell it on?

I will have seen Kate in the brochures, I was buying from them c 20 years ago and they used their own kids as models (T-shirts, sweatshirts etc eg It's Great Being 4/5/6/7) - it was a fantastic innovation at the time, they were very quick & efficient, they deserve every penny!

I usually park my helicopter right at the back of Tesco's car park where no one will really mind or notice.

WendyWeber · 20/04/2008 14:04

Do you, WO? I prefer to use the roof so as not to inconvenience anybody.

Re your OP, saltire, I hope to see a flood of stories about non-royal pilots borrowing our equipment to help with their social lives in future

Freckle · 20/04/2008 14:12

I don't think the RAF does itself any favours by saying that it was all part of his training .

mollymawk · 20/04/2008 14:13

WowOooo, Tesco's ought to have special Helicopter & Toddler parking spaces, surely? It's sooo difficult getting the DCs out of those fiddly side doors, I find...

That's fine then, Little - could you see your way to getting some of these other stories in the tabloids so that the other cynics out there know that all pilots help themselves to office equipment

I don't see the problem.
The field behind my house is often being used for this kind of training.
Why does it matter who owns the field?
And I have no trouble believing what LL says is the tip of the ice berg.

Presumably they have to fly somewhere to get the hours in.

Maybe the prerequisite should be that trainee helicopter pilots only date gf with fields?

dizzydixies · 20/04/2008 14:42

rofl at tesco helicopter parent and child spaces

MotherofUBERboys · 20/04/2008 14:42

if their gf's had one, in the right area, and the trainee needed to practice landing, then i dont see why not.

I can't believe they let Wullie, who has his "pilots licence" for, correct me if I'm wrong, single engine aircraft fly a Chinook, which isn't single engine - again correct me if I'm wrong. Also they flew to the IOW for a stag night and he picked Harry up in London - what if it had crashed? That would be 2nd and 3rd in line to the throne dead! Al fayed would have a field day with his "MI5/6 murder theories wouldn't he?
My point was also that they may well disguise it under the cover of training, but I bet MB's Dh didn't get to fly off to see her under the pretext of training just a couple of weeks after getting his wings!
