Just saw this on the news and it made me feel sick to read it.

Link

Baby is sitting on a picnic blanket with his family having a nice time in the park, when a stranger comes over and pours a thermos flask of coffee onto the baby. Why?? It’s just evil.

It’s getting to the point where I’m scared to take my DC out anywhere public with all of these random attacks happening all over the place, by strangers to innocent children. It’s horrible. Are other people feeling the same?

Thank you for all of your replies and especially for those of you that have given me a bit of perspective on how likely it is. Sorry to hear of those of you who have experienced something similar, I can’t even imagine.

Just to clarify, I do still take my children out and about every day, I’m just much more anxious doing so than before and more wary of people around me. Maybe I need to give myself a break from the news for a bit- like lots of you have said, we would have been none the wiser in the past!

I don’t feel scared because this kind of random attack is extremely rare; they only make the news because they are so unusual. You’d be (far) more likely to be skittled by a speeding motorist crossing the road than be the victim of such an attack.

That said, such a horrible, evil thing to happen is unnerving, so I can completely understand how you feel. Totally awful.

And yes, a man, again.
