Aww, bless her....I hope that she is really otehrwise o.k....
Watched a while back a Documentary about Siamese Twins in america, who had 2 heads but otherwise mostly 1 body, if that makes sense...and they were just amazing and seemed to get on well in life....

What a fantastic reaction to her bith Hinduism makes possible. So positive and welcoming. Other religious cultures might have produced a much more negative, judgemental response.

princessmel · 08/04/2008 17:56

I agree Threadworm.

She is amazing. I hope she's ok.

MummyDoIt · 08/04/2008 18:11

Not sure I agree that the reaction to her birth is fantastic. It's wonderful that she is accepted in such a positive way but I wonder what sort of life she will have, being worshipped and treated as a goddess. Surely not a normal childhood by any stretch of the imagination. I hope I'm just a miserable old cynic and she has a very happy life, though.

MrsMattie · 08/04/2008 18:12

That's amazing.

treelover · 08/04/2008 18:13

remember the girl with 8 legs? shew as worshipped as a goddess. her parents moved thousands of miles away from th evillage after her operation. left family , friends everyone behind so she could go to a speackial school for sn kids.
i thought that was amazing

princessmel · 08/04/2008 18:14

Mummydoit, I think its great as at least she is being loved and not hated.

treelover · 08/04/2008 18:15

sorry, cant type

MummyDoIt · 08/04/2008 18:15

Oh yes, undoubtedly better than being hated and rejected but the psychological effect of being worshipped would worry me.

Bless her heart. I agree, being worshipped will hardly make for a normal life, but it is much better than some of the fates which might have befallen her in different circumstances. In her home she will be revered as eing special, not rejected as a "freak"(sorry - NO inention to offend with the word) or shoved under the spotlight as a medicalproblem to be solved. Poor little mite - hope there are no internal problems and she grows up happy and loved.

Feelingbetterslowly · 09/04/2008 12:29

Kind of makes you believe their "superstitions" when she has been born with no health problems doesn't it. Such a good thing for her and for her family, normally rural families with children who are "different" are witch hunted. So nice to see that she is being accepted instead of rejected.

ComeOVeneer · 09/04/2008 12:34

Mummydoit you said "Surely not a normal childhood by any stretch of the imagination" but lets face it there is no chance of that for this lovely little girl. I think being revered as a godess is (for want of a better phrase) the best of a bad bunch of options for her. Perhaps no "normality" but hopefully some hapiness?

AitchTwoOh · 09/04/2008 12:39

oooh she's quite lovely, isn't she? thank god she was born in India.

Elffriend · 09/04/2008 13:01

Oh. My. God.

Just thought about the teething!! Those poor parents!
