Not murder as Al Fayed has always insisted.

What's the betting Al Fayed won't accept the jury's verdict?

And accuses the jury of being on the payroll of MI5. Let's soon how long it takes.

TBH, I wonder if that driver was even drunk.

I think Dodi urged him to drive faster and faster and he didn't want to lose his job.

Either way, it was an accident, and I think Al Fayed should PAY for every penny of this whole inquest crap.

Chopchopmissy · 07/04/2008 17:22

Oh let that be an end to it and leave the poor woman and her kids alone. Whatever happened wont help now. He wont accept it though - I agree with you there

BoysAreLikeDogs · 07/04/2008 17:23

Kill your speed and not a princess

Amen

Peapodlovescuddles · 07/04/2008 17:23

Well even if he was actually onto something (which I don't for a minute believe he is) then its hardly going to be a case of the Times headline being

"Prince Philip arrested for Diana Murder!"

I mean if anyone can get someone assasinated then they're going to be able to keep it schtum and the inquest too aren' they

Peapodlovescuddles · 07/04/2008 17:24

very sad though, I mean he just wants closure for his son. Poor man

pooka · 07/04/2008 17:26

Oh finally!
It is shocking news - completely unexpected. Had been thinking that the verdict would have been that they were murdered by Darth Vader using evil mind-melding powers to control hordes of pink elephants and flying pigs.

What a massive waste of money and energy.

Wish Al Fayed had to stump up the cash for the whole ridiculous she-bang.

niceglasses · 07/04/2008 17:26

Are we paying for all these bleedin' trials?

TheFallenMadonna · 07/04/2008 17:26

What was the point if it all?
Nobody had to attend.
People have apparently lied with impunity, so really, what was the purpose?

Freckle · 07/04/2008 17:27

I think the jury apportioned the blame equally between the driver and the papparazi. But anything other than blame being laid at the door of the royals will never satisfy Fayed, will it?

expatinscotland · 07/04/2008 17:27

He has an end: his son was killed in a car accident over 10 years ago.

expatinscotland · 07/04/2008 17:27

How did we, the taxpayer, get stuck with the tab for this shit?

pointydog · 07/04/2008 17:35

yes, I think the biggest clue was indeed that the driver was drunk.

No1ErmaBombeckfan · 07/04/2008 17:38

Wow - it is amazing what you can get for over £6 million these days...

It isnt going to answer or dissuade those who believe the conspiracies surrounding the death...

Blandmum · 07/04/2008 17:40

Is there anyone on the planet (other than the grieving Al Fayed) who is in any way shocked at this?

nametaken · 07/04/2008 17:52

No-one is shocked but I honestly think Al Fayed will never be happy unless he gets the answer he wants to hear, rather than getting the truth.

The thing I find really weird is that IF you planned on killing someone, arranging a car crash is not a reliable method of killing them. Thousands of people survive car crashes. Why does Al Fayed - a man I assume to be very intelligent - not understand this.

Also, I don't think he's very well.

Interesting that the British Government have never given him a British Passport - even before all this flared up - makes you wonder what he's hiding from the public.

I think a verdict of accidental death was widely expected as that would match up with the conclusions of the previous inquiries. Instead they came back with unlawful killing, blaming Henri Paul and the paparazzi, so in that sense, I think a lot of people were shocked.

Al Fayed is bonkers, imho.

It won't stop the speculation. Just look at JFK, Marilyn Monroe, September 11th, etc.

Why let the evidence get in the way of a good conspiracy theory?
