How can that not be enough? The papers are going to have a field day.....

If the princess is safe in her castle, then the peasant woman is safe in her field. Same applies to Beatrice and the council estate child relying on the 15% CSA formula.

evie99 · 17/03/2008 21:57

I know that she has done nothing to earn this money but the "caveat emptor" principle applies to all contracts including marriage- Paul should have been more careful.

expatinscotland · 17/03/2008 22:01

Well, Paul was fairly warned. By LOTS of folks, including her ex husband.

So he got what he had coming.

She is utterly potty.

Piffle · 17/03/2008 22:03

exactly Friday... The whole bloody country told him she was a gold digger, his own kids went ballistic and said the same even cutting contact.
But no... No... No pre nup.
dumb dumb should have cost him more for being such a fork.
She doesn't bother me, he on other hand makes me want to throw things at him. Reckon when heather threw that glass of water at vinegartits Ms Shackleton she was aiming for his springer spaniel how can you hate me I was a Beatle face

Piffle · 17/03/2008 22:05

fork? I meant dork.

Youcannotbeserious · 17/03/2008 22:09

That is true, Expat...

It wasn't like everyone thought she was a saint BEFORE they got married... AND, he went on the record saying he wasn't having a prenup to prove everyone wrong... Whoops!!!

I suppose when you think of it like that, he did get what was coming to him!!

PABLOP · 17/03/2008 22:10

Rofl at "should have cost him more for being such a fork"

chopchopbusybusy · 17/03/2008 22:12

TBH I'm not too bothered about the whole thing, but I do seem to remember that Paul McCartney famously brought his other children up very frugally. State schools, fairly normal and basic lifestyles etc. I do wonder if they are just complete opposites - Ya Boo - Bea and I can only afford to fly business class now etc...

hotcrossMonkeybun · 17/03/2008 22:14

Can't face reading the whole thread so sure it's been said, but:

never mind the cash/stupidity/awfulness for the child, WTF was she wearing?!

hotcrossMonkeybun · 17/03/2008 22:15

And she had a camel hoof

expatinscotland · 17/03/2008 22:18

I agree, Piffle.

Fridayfeeling · 17/03/2008 22:18

And far too much botox

unknownrebelbang · 17/03/2008 22:18

Might I suggest that she spends a considerable amount of her new cash on therapy?

magicfarawaytree · 17/03/2008 22:29

poor beatrice ....travelling b class - says it all.

Judy1234 · 18/03/2008 08:10

evie, short marriage rules still apply which is why she didn't get 50% of £400m but instead oft £23m or whatever. If you have a child then that can change how those rules apply but even Mrs Miller who got £5m for just over a year of marriage in Miller v Miller she did not get anything like 50% because again it was a short marriage. In that case a lot of her husband's money was made during the marriage and in McC it was not. There isn't a "rule" as such but it's what's applied.

With her £18m lump sum or whatever it is once the house/properties are taken off she has £600k a year income. She can use that to pay for her daughter's expenses just as most of us who work and support our children alone as women do with our own earnings. Indeed part of the reason my ex husband got so much was the valid point his lawyer made that they didn't want when the children were with him (not that he's really chosen to see them) he should be in a positoin to buy them thihngs and take them on holidays in the same way they would get at home.

LieselVonTrapp · 18/03/2008 10:42

My DH makes somewhere in the region of £35K on that he has to support a family of four, mortgage, we have a nice house in a nice area, one car, several fish, at least one holiday a year (flying economy) and our kids have never wanted for anything. I find her rantings repellent and im sure nobody knows what the f* shes ranting on about. Im sure there are folk in this world in a darker place today than HMM.

wannaBe · 18/03/2008 10:43

well apparently the judgement is going to be made public so she has lost.

SilentTerror · 18/03/2008 10:53

Am no fan of Mills but what do these old men think young women marry them for???Conversation??

beaniesteve · 18/03/2008 10:57

Love?

My dad was with a woman who was a year or so older than me and I am guessing they had some good conversation.

SoupDreggon · 18/03/2008 12:28

I'm guessing your dad isn't worth £x billion or whatever PaulMcC is worth though, Beanie.

ElenorRigby · 18/03/2008 12:43

The judgment is released here...
www.judiciary.gov.uk/docs/judgments_guidance/judgment_180308.pdf

mumemma · 18/03/2008 12:47

All that appealing against this has done is drawn more attention to it. Have only read the first page but it says the wife computes her reasonable needs for herself and Beatrice to £99,480,000!

OP posts:
OrmIrian · 18/03/2008 12:48

I don't give a toss how much money he has. I'm still not sure why she thinks she deserves so much of it. They were only married for a millisecond.

If he's chucked her out the door in the middle of the night in her pyjamas and forbad her ever to darken his doorstep again and threw her shoes after her, I could understand her feeling hard done by. But she's not exactly going to be on the poverty line.

mumemma · 18/03/2008 12:48

She's got a house in Beverley Hills called 'Heather House'!
