Hannah Ingram-Moore - Grabby and embarrasing

What a disgrace this woman is.

I have been on MN for 20 years and never posted on the News board but I am just so appalled by her greed that I had to vent.

The Captain Tom Moore fundraiser was a moment in time - almost an anomaly. It could so easily have flown under the radar but it came at a time when most of the nation felt alone, frightened and utterly powerless. It was something to 'get behind' and be part of (via donations). And his daughter knows that. She knows that her dad buoyed a nation at a dark time, and she knows her dad was awarded in recognition of that. She knows how much 'we' wanted that money to make a difference to the part of the NHS that would benefit and she has continually found ways to manipulate the situation and benefit personally.

Surely she realises that such a big sum - publicly raised - is going to be scrutinized? I am embarrassed by her greed and stupidity. For her for charging for an appearance like she's a fucking celebrity. Greedy, grabbing disgraceful behaviour.

No idea why I am so invested and care so much, but i am and I do.

Old Tom trundles round his Home Counties garden …..the £40 million raised came from the publicity in the media (on an almost hourly basis) people weren’t sponsoring him by the lap.
I feel Joe Public felt helpless during the pandemic & just wanted to show support to our vital services.
I’m an nhs worker…..never seen a penny of the millions & I’ve never heard of where any of it went to.

It went to NHS Charities Together (an umbrella organisation) who then distributed it amongst their 230 member charities. You would have no way of knowing exactly what it funded in your area.

This woman's greed is written all over her face.

Sickening.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about where the financial mismanagement lies. I don’t think there is any doubt that the original 40 million went to NHS Charities Together via Just Giving. The question is about the foundation that HIM subsequently set up which paid her a salary that was totally disproportionate to the assets/ grant making of the foundation - there are many family foundations of that sort of size which are just administered by the trustees for free maybe with one PT grants officer. You’d be trying to keep your costs to around 12% of grants. Then there’s the book which is anyone’s guess. presumably the IP didn’t sit within the foundation so it’s not entitled to the proceeds. It’s just what the intention was.

Is she worse than, say, a pair of NSPCC pricks jangling their collection buckets at poverty-stricken pensioners as they try to go in and out of the COOP? One started commenting on how much the lady's meagre shopping cart must have cost and how she could surely spare just a few pounds more. The lady got visibly flustered at having to justify herself and I was so pissed off I intervened and led her away.

The CEO of NSPCC gets an annual base salary of £173,000, while this lady's clothes were probably new 20 years ago.

What???!! That's obscene to point that put!
However, I did have a charity chugger ask me for 'the same amount of money that I would find down the back of my sofa every week... £3 or there abouts' when I had just exited asda.
I told her that wasn't small change for alot of people and showed her the meagre contents of my plastic bag... mainly value chopped tomatoes. She didn't say much after that.
They shouldn't assume what people have to live on.

@prh47bridge

There was 3 books - he was quoted as saying that in one of the books

She insisted that he said he wanted the money from the books to go to his family - think about it why wouldn’t he want to leave them something?

You would think there is a will stipulating this as he had more than one child - would be interesting to know what the will said

Quitelikeit · 17/10/2023 18:00

Otherwise she can’t just clear his bank accounts without the prior permission/knowledge of the rest of his children as surely it’s worth a legal fight on their part if she did this

I haven't read the books so I can't comment on what they say. However, the family have not said that the will stipulates that the proceeds from the books should go to them. If you want to know what it says, you can get a copy from the Probate Registry for £1.50. It would be unlawful for me to tell you what it does say, but his will does not mention the books at all.

As the books appear to have been marketed as supporting the NHS, it is potentially unlawful for the money to go to his children even if that was specified in his will. If you claim to be raising money for a charity or a charitable purpose, any money you raise must be used for that purpose. You can deduct reasonable expenses, but you can't claim to be raising money for the NHS then keep it all for yourself.

Be interesting to know how much of the funds raised went to pay the salaries of the charity CEO…charity CEO pay scales is another bugbear of mine!
