Putting up corporation tax! Bad idea.

Dp's business is pan European, brexit already had him looking for another base for the 80% of the business in the eu, with the increase in corporation tax looks like we might as well move all the business... that's over £190k of tax per year

And you’re so concerned about it, that your first thoughts minutes after announcement is to start a thread on mumsnet 😂

Your poor DH meanwhile…!

It's still less than the rest of Europe bar Ireland and there are so many reductions available only a small percentage of businesses will actually pay the full whack.

obr.uk/box/corporation-tax-in-historical-and-international-context/

"A decade ago, the headline rate of onshore corporation tax (CT) stood at 28 per cent. Over the following seven years, the Coalition and then Conservative Governments cut it gradually to an all time low of 19 per cent in 2017-18 and had announced a further cut to 17 per cent to take effect in April 2020. That last step down was cancelled in last year’s Budget, while in this Budget the Chancellor has decided to raise it back to 25 per cent with effect from April 2023." (This is from March 2021)
