Thank god the baby wasn't hurt - we have the problem with high winds down here on the coast. I don't take DS out in the buggy when it's bad, I worry about exactly this sort of thing (except for us it would be the road, not a lake).

Last year, my friend got hit by a massive gust of wind as she turned a corner - her buggy flipped over with her DD in it - thankfully she was ok (barred a bump on the end) but how scary! And that was a Phil and Ted E3, not a lightweight stroller or anything.

that is one of my worst nightmares.

I'm assuming it wasn't a deep lake otherwise the baby wouldn't have stood a chance.

One time my buggy got blown into the road - that could have been dangerous - I was stood outside a shop and the buggy (with dd1!) raced off so quickly. Fortunately I got it just in time.

The break on my Zapp failed the other day and DS started to scoot backwards across Waitrose car park - fortunately he was in between 2 cars so could only go a few inches (thank god for P&T spaces )

I probably wouldn't have gone back into the lake to retrieve the pram, but then I've always had rubbish second hand prams that I couldn't care less about.

The brakes on the Zapp are crap aren't they?

Anyway, if it's the park I'm thinking of in Moseley, then it won;t have been deep, but they would have been filthy I presume it's the lake in Highbury Park because the lake in Cannon Hill is BIG and deep.

Still, deep water or no, it's still v v scary. Glad the littlew one is OK

I'd imagine it was probably a knee-jerk reaction by the mother, she was likely to be in shock.

Indeed, I have done bizarre things while in a styate of shock - you don;t really think about it,m you just do it.
